Open Question: What is the best Graceland Tour to take?
My dad has a friend that works for FedEx that has a free platinum pass that I can use for when I go to Graceland next week. I like the fact that I won't have to pay, but I don't know if it would be worth it to take the VIP Tour instead. They have a special VIP only exhibit in the museum and I didn't know if the Platinum tour was a detailed enough tour. (more...)

Open Question: Paypal question? On hold - ship now? ?
What does it mean when paypal places the item you just hold on hold and you have to ship it now? I had the item set to immediate payment. I got an email saying the buyer paid from paypal stating this as the subject "NOTICE OF PAYMENT RECEIVED - PLEASE SHIP ITEM." Here is what it said: You've received a payment, detailed below. We?ve placed a temporary hold on the funds for this transaction. PayPal and eBay are working together to make payments for eBay items even safer. Because we want both buyers and sellers to feel confident about sending and receiving payments through PayPal, we may temporarily hold payments for items sold on eBay. Make sure to ship the item right away, so you'll have access to the funds sooner. We?ll release the hold in 21 days unless you receive a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction subject to the hold. We may release the hold earlier if either of the following occurs: * The buyer leaves you positive feedback on eBay. * We confirm that the item was delivered.* We can confirm delivery if you ship the item with USPS, FedEx, or UPS and either use PayPal shipping labels or upload tracking information from the transaction details page. This applies to transactions within the United States. Additional hold period If you receive a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction subject to the hold, we may hold the payment until the problem is resolved. Learn more about the PayPal policy for payment holds for eBay items. We will notify you by email when the funds are released. You can monitor the status of the hold in your Transaction History. Is it safe to ship? The buyer has 100% feedback with about 100 or so stars. The item cost a lot so I'm a little hesitant on shipping right now. Should I wait? I am verified also. This isn't the first time I've sold an item or it has done this. It did this to the last item I sold that was 70$. Does it just do this when the item is over a certain amount? Or is it because of me since I have only 12 stars, but 100% feedback. Has anyone else gotten this before and is it safe to ship? (more...)

Open Question: Should FedEx/UPS be more convenient for their customers?
Not a rant... I just simply want to know what you think about the following issues packaging companies present, and whether or not you think they should try to be more convenient. Also, please add anything you would like to see changed. 1. They give you a delivery day, and you need to take the day off of work for it. 2. You pretty much can't go to the bathroom, listen to music, watch TV, go out to eat, shower, or anything else that may occupy your time for more than 15 seconds, or they will not deliver. 3. Their so-called guaranteed delivery by dates are NOT always accurate, and a refund is out of the questions. 4. Some drivers, whether by their own choice or orders, will actually NOT deliver packages, but rather just stick the "We missed you" note on the door. Seen it happen many times, especially at Apartment and Townhouse areas. 5. If you miss the package, it is either sent back, or you have to end up driving 30 minutes or so to a bad or obscure part outside where you live to retrieve it. Here are some of my suggestions: 1. Give the customer an EXACT delivery date. 2. Give the customer a rough estimate of delivery time. Barring any accidents, with modern GPS technology, knowledge of the area they are driving in and traffic trends, this should not be a big issue. For example 12:00 to 2:00. That way people can take a half day or just an extended lunch from work to get a package. 3. Have drivers actually knock all of the time, possibly have an automated message (voice or text) option sent to your cell when delivery is within an hour or so. 4. Deliver by the date paid for, or apologize, refund the customer, possibly the entire shipping, since sometimes the loss of delivery time is damaging to the customer. 5. Have a package storage location for MISSED packages only, or people who choose to pick up in a part of town that is easy to get to, like the UPS store nearest the address, etc. I'm really not downing the industry, just questioning it's customer care. Many other small, medium, and large companies seem to do all of these things that I ask. So why not the packaging companies? (more...)
