ok, so this may sound a bit weird and mean but hear me out. I met this one guy at work a couple years ago and we became friends really fast (maybe too fast, which could be the problem). Anyways, he has a good personality and is a cheerful guy, but he has the biggest lack in commitment. Happens often, but when i ask him for a favor that he says he will do, he will often forget it because he got distracted (by games; he's a gamer). Anyways, i confront him with this and he ends up not caring all that much (you can tell by how he side-tracks the convo). so thats one thing that annoys me a lot which is a big issue for me!!! the other thing is that he's a gamer. In order to have had something in common with the guy, aside from personalities matching, i had to pick up some of his games that way we'd have something to talk about. He's thinking about playing WoW again and i know that will only make hanging out and talking to him (even on Instant messenger) much harder! i dont want him to play it, but i dont know how much my voice reaches him (he's not the one to sit down and resolve issues from what i have seen). So i have come to the realization that maybe i dont deserve all this frustration for 1 person, even if he so happens to be a pretty damn good friend. i wanted peoples opinion on my problem because i cant seem to find the will to not talk to him or interact with the guy (we pretty much hung-out/ talked everyday since we met). Please shine some light on my problem. what should i do? only serious answers please. (fyi im in college if that means anything) so yea i read some of the answers and a couple were kinda how i feel atm. I am putting a lot in this friendship with minimal coming back to me. I always help this guy out as much as possible, even if im doing something myself (i go out of my way). I think i am expecting too much out of this but this is how i am and i think the fact that its a clashing characteristic makes it hard to deal with. ahh wat to do? i feel that for my own well being in the future, not being friends with him would be teh best decision. just HOW to go about doing it is the problem. i find it hard to not want to tell hims something that happened during my day, or just chat. to just NOT talk to him, would probably be harder on me than on him (because he has games and the ppl he has been playing them with for yrs). iono, its kinda confusing for me. keep the opinions coming guys. i thank you all! Okay, so I rented Guitar Hero World Tour software, and its guitar and the Rock Band software. I hooked the guitar to my PS3 and put in the Rock Band disc. Remember, I only have the guitar controller, not the drum set or the microphone. So I chose solo>quickplay using my GHWT guitar and suddenly it comes up with: "No microphone has been detected. Please connect a microphone to play this game as a vocalist". WTF So how do I resolve this problem? Thanks (more...)

alright, so I'm trying to upgrade my WOW game to the Lich King on my external hard drive, but when I open the file to upgrade to download the patch, a window pops up saying that my hard drive doesn't have enough space and that it needs at least 8gb, however, the external hard drive has 452gb of free space? how can I resolve this problem (more...)

Let it be known, i am a very intelligent, very clever, very intuitive young woman. I've come up with some very creative and clever ways to outsmart my stalkers (and other various ... "curious" people) over the course of their " obsessive interest." (which has been a while *sighs*) I am also a very good actress .. very good indeed. I've done everything from avoiding them altogether (by being a place other than that which they believed i was going to be) giving them the slip in various ways (slipping out a back door, leaving early, changing clothes mid-stalk etc) and even pretending to be completely insane, in order for them to back off. This last routine seemed to work for a while, really it did. As some of those previously obsessed bought my act, and left me alone for a good while. So i just went with what worked. But The issue with stalking has NOT resolved itself and there is nothing that i can legally do at this point (so do not suggest it) SO this weekend i did my own detective work, got into "crazy mode" and outsmarted the lot of them. (Really i did ... it was fabulous. I should get a flipping Oscar for my performance, and a medal for my keen critical thinking skills!) The problem is ... that in such an endeavour to ward off crazies ... and due to my absolutely awesomely gifted abilities ... now some normal unstalkerish people think that i am totally nuts. (I do not count this as a complete loss however because that just shows how REALLY good I am!) But, obviously it has it's downside...Obviously. So i think that a new game plan is in order ... no more pretending to be nuts as i do not think that it is doing me good any longer. I am not getting into full details of the who and what of things, as some things are honeslty unknown; some known in part, and the rest known completely. But i need some new ideas on how to outsmart totally crazy obsessive stalkers who pretty much have access to everything and everyone ... which makes me a walking target most days. (I cannot legally do anything about this issue at the moment, which is the entire point behind outsmarting them ... it's not just for sh!ts and giggles.) Creative suggestions are much appreciated. My brother plays F.E.A.R. often on my mom's computer because it has connection to the Internet. Since I've been home on winter break I've been trying to resolve the multiple issue her computer has. I'll try to give as many details as to what I did and what problems have been happening. First, I had to redownload AVG Free for her because something happened to it and it refused to update. We have dial up and it took five hours, but it downloaded fine. When I ran a scan the Internet stopped working. It would say it was connected but I was unable to browse using Firefox or use any program that involved being online. Since then the problem occurs at least once or twice a day and only lasts about an hour at most. Next I installed the update that has probably been waiting to be installed for a very long time, which was XP Service Pack 3. It installed no problem. I then installed a new version of Windows Defender because the version on this computer was a beta and was expired. The installation was a success. After that I uninstalled the games nobody plays, such as World of Warcraft, since my mom doesn't want them using up space. Then I turned off some of the boot processes for MusicMatch Jukebox because ShellIconHiddenWindow wouldn't turn off at shutdown. Everything was fine, except for the Internet connection problem. When my brother tried to play F.E.A.R. later that night, it would get to the title screen but it would freeze. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it but the game still freezes. There are no scratches on the disc an we never had a problem with it before until I installed the service pack. Is it just a coincidence or did installing the service pack (along with AVG Free and Windows Defender) make the game unplayable? Any help would be appreciated, and sorry for the detailed descriptions. I really would like to fix the issue before I have to return to university. Thank you! Thanks for all of your suggestions. In certain programes supported by Adobe flash player, i am able to click on an object to reveal a drop-down menu or some other pop-up menu. However, upon moving the mouse at all to scroll through the said menu to choose an option the menu disappears. Of course this is extremely frustrating, but fortunately only happens during online flash games and role playing sites and not with any other drop down menu. Please help me to resolve this issue.
