Open Question: Fingerprints inside of a location enough to make an arrest and convction? Citicop this is for you.?
Ok, myself and others have went through this many times before. I do understand the whole concept of probable cause, and prints inside of a vehicle that belong to a stranger could be consider as such. I am not denying that a persons prints that belong to a stranger to the victim is very suspicious. But, where I tend to differ, is that it is enough to convict that person, without first getting more evidence, ie (stolen goods, eye witness, etcc..) I even agree that a person with prior thefts or burglaries would make a great suspect and a conviction would be highly likely. Still I do not see how prints alone are enough to make a conviction. Simply placing a person at a scene, proves nothing other then they were there at one time. Not necessarily at the time of the crime. Just to arrest and charge a person with a crime because you can place them there seems a bit much. Hell anyone could be arrested for a crime if that was the fact. Citicop, you mean to tell me if you were investigating a burglary and you discover prints inside of the location, then you would arrest and charge that person, no questions asked? What type of investigation is that. If it was that easy to bring charges on a person, then a lot more people would be proven guilty just because they were at the scene. It seems that an interview would come first. If that person cannot be found or chooses not to talk, then you really have nothing. Hell someone could place anyone at a scene of a crime and commit it themselves, and frame a person. All I am saying is there has to be more evidence in my opinion to prove guilt. I am not denying that people have been locked up with such evidence, but even in those cases, there was more evidence. It was not just a case were a persons prints were found inside of a location, and a crime was committed, BAM guilty as charged. I have also read cases where that very evidence was found to be insufficent to hold a conviction. It goes both ways. Personally, I cannot see a DA, taking a case with just prints. (more...)

Resolved Question: Is my foot broken and should I see someone?
Okay, so it is 4 AM right now and it was about 7:30 to 8 PM last night that I kicked my vehicle. I kicked the bottom part and it was extremely hard and I think I kicked it about 5-10 times. I don't know if my foot is broken, bruised, or whatever?! I have this almost pain feeling in between my big toe and foot, but it doesn't hurt. I can just feel it. Around that area it is extremely swollen, like the whole end of my foot. It is swollen to the point that the swollenness ( I do not know what to call it???) covers up part of my toes. My toes and part of my foot are this gray-blue color and I cannot move any of my toes. Comparing the my two feet (witch are the ugly long skinny things) I can see that the "hurt" area is at least double the size and in the immediate location it's a mixture of green, black, and blue or something. If this makes any sense my foot feels like... um... dead weight? So, I was wondering should I go to the ER (which is the last place I honestly want to go to for a few extremities)or wait till my family physician gets in at 10 (like 6 hours from now) to see if I can get an appointment/ or walk in. ORRRRR if I should just put some stuff on and hope that nature takes it's course and it heals. the last of these is what I would like to do, but my dad is being dumb and has stayed up all night worrying that my foot is going to fall off. I would hate to use my insurance and waste doctor's precious time when some people can't go to the doctor if their finger got cut off... and someone might have an axe in the back of their head which in my opinion is more important than my foot. Oh and my toes have a weird tingling sensation in them. If you guys think this is a joke, it is not. Like some flaming troll who is seeking attention. I assure you that I am dead serious. Other wise I would have rather tried to go back to bed, but I cannot due to my foot. Sorry for sounding angry... in above details. I went to the hospital. My airbag warning light is on, if there by chance a common point of failure that i can inspect myself, rather than bringing it to the dealer to have them search EVERY POSSIBLE cause? I was reading that the sensor harness under the seat may be a common point of failure due to seat movement, wear on the harness is the failure likely to occur? What are the locations of the sensors related to the airbag systems that i would need to inspect on the vehicle? Is there an easy way to check if the failure is on the drivers side or passenger side airbags? Will removing the airbag system fuse eliminate the possibility of my airbags deploying inadvertently? Open Question: 1996 ford taurus will not hold charge.?
Its my friends girlfriends car. Battery is new. Alternator has been tested at two different locations. Both times tested its passed the test. All wiring from what I can see is fine. No shorts that are visible to my eye. Previous owner of car did has stereo system in vehicle. All was taking out except the power wire rem cable and ground wire were left but the power was disconnected. Any possible problems that you know of please tell. Thank You for your time!! (more...)

And why do they make a point of saying ""I did NOT request for your bank details."" ??!! Finally, the words and sentencing just doesn't sound like a Mrs Brown to me... Voting Question: I bought a led light for my car HELP?
These are the directiones Now you need to determine a good location to hook up your new led. Use a 12 volt test light and find either a constant 12+ volt power source (back of cigarette lighter and or a spot in your vehicles fuse box) Well, I need to hook it up through a switch I guess, to a power supply and then ground it somehow, How do I perform this? Resolved Question: What are the chances that a used car dealer will price match their vehicle for me?
Basically, I'm looking at used 2003 Tahoes. I've narrowed it down to two, both of them on separate used car lots in different locations (one is local, the other is an hour away). The local dealership has a 2003 Z71 tahoe w/110k miles, all accessories work, no mechanical problems, 4x4 works, etc etc...they want $13,000 for it (which doesn't include taxes or fees or anything, so probably $14,000). The other dealership has a 2003 LT Tahoe with 90,000 miles, everything works, 4x4, etc etc... They were asking $12,000 for it initially, but I got it down to $10,500 out the door (good deal right?) Well, I'd rather get the local one instead and not have to drive an hour for the other one. So, what are the chances that this local dealer would match the price of the non-local Tahoe? It's a Z71 2003 yes, but has 20,000 more miles on it...soooo... What do you think? Thankks!! Resolved Question: Getting an Arrest Warrant?
Ok, once again I have questions on this topic. I have had many great answers but I am still a bit dumbfounded on a certain issue with this. Basically what I am wondering is when are they used, and necessary. Say for instance you have a stole vehicle, or a house burglary, and you find fingerprints inside of the location that belong to a person that is not the owner. Since the prints are probably enough evidence for probable cause, do you now just get a warrant based on that and arrest the suspect? Or do you question the suspect first? What if the suspect lawyers up or chooses not to talk? Basically, when probable cause id established what is next, an arrest, questioning, etc.. Fingerprints inside these locations are suspicious but do not necessarily mean the person who's prints are inside the location are the person who committed the crime. So how does this work during the course of an investigation? Is simply placing a person at a scene enough to arrest, charge, convict without questioning first? your accountant, I am not talking about me getting a warrant you idiot. I am talking about the police. DUH. And no I do not live in a third world country I live in the US. (more...)
