Resolved Question: College Football, Conference Realignment?
In order to have 6 Conference Championship Games and more money through those CG's. Plus we won't have to hear about how the 12 team conferences have such a harder road to travel. The non-BCS teams will adjust, and at least after this shift don't have to worry about getting picked from again. I'm more interested in whether you think it's a good idea than a realistic possibility, I know it ain't gonna happen.
What do you think?
SEC- Stays the Same
East Division

Vanderbilt
Tennessee
South Carolina
Georgia
Florida
West Division

Big 12- Stays the same

South Division
Oklahoma St.
Oklahoma
Texas Tech
Baylor
Texas A&M
Texas
ACC- adds South Florida and East Carolina becasue both schools fit perfectly into the ACC geography, just look at the map, the fewer travel expenses the better. Virginia Tech and Boston College go back to the Big East.
Atlantic Division

Wake Forest
North Carolina St.
Clemson
Florida St.
*South Florida
Coastal Division

Pac-12- adds Utah and BYU, a great rivalry. The Pac 12 could possibly add Boise State and Hawaii instead.
North Division

South Division
California
Stanford

Big 10- ignore the name. It adds it's longtime welcomed guest Notre Dame and Central Michigan. Penn State joins the Big East.

Minnesota
South Division
Illinois
Northwestern

Ohio St.
Iowa
Big East- Adds the NYC market with Army, the Balt-DC market with Navy and adds one of the best rivalries in College Football. By adding BC and VT it adds the Boston Market, and two rivals who already are familiar with the Big East and rikindles those rivalries. Penn State also adds and excellent team and renews the Pitt-Penn game which was once a major rivalry.
North Division
Syracuse
*Boston College
Connecticut

Any rivals that find themselves in seperate divisions can solve this with a permenant rival like Pitt-Penn State, Army-Navy, ND-Purdue, Minn-Iowa and Mich-Ohio State. Whatta ya think?

Resolved Question: Why won't top NCAA Division 1 Teams play at Boise State Broncos Home Stadium?
Wouldn't you like Oklahoma, USC, Florida, Tennessee, LSU and even Texas to play at Broncos Stadium.
Wouldn't you like to see if they could pull off a win there?
Do you think any of those teams would win there, and if so, what would be final score.
And what would be the final score if those teams lost?

Resolved Question: Would this system for a college football play-off work?
my idea of how college footballs play-off system would work..I'm gonna use the standings from this season..that might make it easier to understand..
first off: EVERYBODY needs to have divisions in their conference..(Big10, Big East, Pac-10, Mountain West, WAC and Sun-Belt all don't have divisions)
second: put the independents in a friggin conference..(for the purpose of showing how this will work I'm putting Navy in the Sun Belt)
ACC: Virginia Tech(9-4,5-3), Boston College(9-4,5-3)
Big12: Oklahoma(12-1,7-1), Missouri(9-4,5-3)
BigTen:Penn State(11-1,7-1), Ohio State(10-2,7-1)
SEC:Florida(12-1,7-1(technically8-1)), Alabama(12-1,8-0(technically8-1))
Pac-10:USC(11-1,8-1), Oregon State(9-3,7-2)
Big East:Cincinnati(11-2,6-1), Pittsburgh(9-3,5-2)
Mountain West:Utah(12-0,8-0), TCU(10-2,7-1)
C-USA:East Carolina(9-4,6-2), Tulsa(10-3,7-1)
*Sun Belt:Navy(8-5), Troy(8-4,6-1)*
*MAC:Buffalo(8-5,5-3), Ball State(12-1,8-0)*
WAC:Boise State(12-0,8-0), Hawaii(7-6,5-3)
The conferences with the worst overall win percentage are excluded from the playoffs..this will, in theory, make teams more interested in playing teams in other conferences and set up some intense match-ups(could you imagine how great it would've been if Florida and Oklahoma had played in the regular season?)..So the Sun Belt and MAC are out this season..
That leaves 18 teams..9 of which won their conference..So first off we separate these 18 into 2 groups..the champions and the non-champions..then they get seeded..this is based off of the overall record and strength of schedule(for sake of time and not wanting to check the sos I'm gonna just place them wherever)..The top 3 seeds will have bye's
Group A-The Champions
#1 seed-Utah
#2 seed-Oklahoma
#3 seed-Florida
#4 seed-Boise State
#5 seed-PennState
#6 seed-USC
#7 seed-Cincinnati
#8 seed-VTech
#9 seed-ECU
Group B-The Runner-Ups
#1 seed-Alabama
#2 seed-Ohio State
#3 seed-TCU
#4 seed-Tulsa
#5 seed-Missouri
#6 seed-Boston College
#7 seed-Oregon State
#8 seed-Pitt
#9 seed-Hawaii
So the group A matchups would be
4 v 9 Boise State v ECU
5 v 8 PennState v Virginia Tech
6 v 7 USC v Cincinnati
Utah has a bye
Oklahoma has a bye
Florida has a bye
And group B matchups would be
4 v 9 Tulsa v Hawaii
5 v 8 Missouri c Pittsburgh
6 v 7 Boston College v Oregon State
Alabama has a bye
Ohio State has a bye
TCU has a bye
The system is one-and-done..lose and your season is over..win and your one step closer to the national title..
#1 seed plays winner of 6v7
#2 seed plays winner of 5v8
#3 seed plays winner of 4v9
So..this is how it would look so far(in my opinion)
GroupA
#1 Utah v #6 USC
#2 Oklahoma v #5 PennState
#3 Florida v #4 Boise State
Group B
#1 Alabama v #7 Oregon State
#2 Ohio State v #5 Missouri
#3 TCU v #4 Tulsa
Those 6(3 in each 'division') games would be played..The highest surviving seed would then get a bye while the other 2 teams plays to see who would be opposite them in the semi-final game..
So here's the breakdown of that
Group A
#3 Florida v #6 USC
Oklahoma(#2) has bye
Group B
#2 Ohio State v #3 TCU
Alabama(#1) has bye
winner of quarterfinal moves on the play in semi-final(duh)
#2 Oklahoma v #3 Florida
#1 Alabama v #2 Ohio State
winners or those games play each other for national title..higher ranked team is "home" team(although game will be played on neutral field..)If both are same number than coin toss prior to game will determine who is 'home' team..
#1 Alabama v #3 Florida
#3 Florida is national champ..
This would take up about as much time as the bowl season does..so it wouldn't be all that much of a change to the season..and there could be some kind of consolation to the tams that participated..and a bonus to the teams that were in the title game and a bigger one to the winner..and a couple spare dollars here and there for all of the teams(with winning records) in the conference of the champion..

Resolved Question: Should the Pac 10 add 2 more teams to make it the Pac 12? Explain.?
This way they can split it into 2 6-team divisions then have a title game. Possible nominees: Boise State, Hawaii, Fresno State, Nevada-Reno, UNLV, San Diego State.
The REAL election's here!
http://www.bikiniwall.com
Boise and Hawaii would make the best additions to the proposed Pac-12 since they've gotten tons exposure in recent years. It could work!
Pac 12 American Division: Cal, Stanford,Oregon, Oregon St., Boise State, Hawaii
Pac 12 National Division : USC, UCLA, Arizona, Ariz. St, Wash, Wash St.
There could be a yearly USC vs. CAL/Boise/Oregon Pac-12 title game matchup so that would be a very fair game.

Resolved Question: Is this a bad idea? We need playoffs not BCS.?
I have the craziest idea yet:
Create an 18-team, 3-division super west coast conference and end the season with a two-week, 4-team playoff.
North: Wash, Wash St, Ore, Ore St, Boise St, Idaho
Central: Cal, Stanford, Fresno St, SJSU, Utah, BYU
South: USC, UCLA, Ariz, ASU, SDSU, Hawaii
Each team could play all 5 teams in their division, plus 2 teams from each of the other divisions (4 total) each season on a rotating basis, plus 2 or 3 non-conference games and end the season with a playoff. Show the rest of college football how exciting a playoff would be.
The first round of the playoff could be Thanksgiving weekend. That would steal TV viewers from the traditional Texas vs A&M and Nebraska vs. Colorado games.
Who wouldn't want to see USC vs. Utah in prime time Saturday Dec 6th?

Resolved Question: How exactly are Florida and Oklahoma more deserving of playing for the title than Penn State and USC?
How exactly can the BCS pass off Florida and Oklahoma as a legitimate national title game? Florida had a fluke loss to Mississippi, but Penn State had a fluke loss to Iowa, a team of comparable talent to Mississippi. Oklahoma had a dominant offense, but USC had a dominant defense. I recognize that Texas and Texas Tech (Texas Tech, Texas, and Oklahoma all have a head-to-head record of 1-1) also have a case for playing in the title game. The 2 unbeaten teams Boise State and Utah have a strong case as well. Alabama played a great game against Florida and still has only 1 loss.
How can anybody defend the farce that the BCS is going to laughably claim to be the National Title game? How do we know that Florida and Oklahoma are better than any of the deserving teams that are going to be left out of the title game? How can the NCAA keep this absurd BCS system around when every other sport (including all lower divisions of college football and even high school football) has a playoff system? Why are we going to be without a clear-cut national champion for the 3rd year in a row?

Voting Question: Who else thinks the SEC and the Big 12 are a bunch of high school teams?
Look at the teams that are in these conferences. Perenial losers with a couple of good teams that reside at the top year after year. And those "good" teams like Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State emphasize offense over defense. Just look at how good Baylor did against the best 4 teams the Big 12 put out this year. No, Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma don't deserve to be in the top 10. And the SEC? Four teams over .500 and you want to consider that a competitive division. Come on. They were pitiful and overrated in the 80s and the 90s and still pitiful in 2k. I know there are many who will disagree but it is still true. Just look at how many SEC players made it in the NFL. There are two undefeated teams left and neither has a bonafide chance of ever going for a championship game because they aren't tested against the likes of Oklahoma(didn't Boise State beat those guys?) or Florida, but then I didn't see Florida take on Penn State, Texas take on USC, or Oklahoma take on Ohio State either. But then they would have lost and there wouldn't be an argument. Good offensive teams get shut down by good balanced teams and that's just the way it is. I would love to see playoffs in college because then the conferences that get all the hype would be seen as the fakes they really are.

Resolved Question: Alabama's Bowl Eligibility from a College football Tard!?
Have a simple question that I'm sure 99% of most football fans will know! While I have watched every single game including the PPV games this year quite honestly I?m quite illiterate when it comes to BCS bowl games as well as the whole system. While I realize we?ve clinched the SEC West division and will be playing for the SEC title as well as a chance for a National BCS Championship title this Saturday, My question is ? if we do loose to Florida is that it for Alabama?s season (forgive my complete ignorance on this subject) or will we still be eligible to play in a some type of Bowl game? and if so what calibre team might we be playing? E.g.: a Texas Tech, Utah, Boise State, Ohio State, Oregon State, or the likes- or would it be a non top ten team?
Thanks for taking time to help out an ignorant yet die hard Alabama fan, J.Clarke

Resolved Question: your idea of a better way to find the ncaaf champion?
here's mine...
i just read an article exploring the idea of an eight team playoff. this entitles the participants to an extra four games a yr. that does not seem a big deal to me. most teams already play 12 or 13. also an eight team playoff would also leave out alot of teams, the surprise ones. i.e: boise st and tcu. so here's my idea.
have a 10 game schedule for each fbs team. get rid of those fcs teams in your schedule and those weaker opponents. play your 8 or 9 conf games and 1 or 2 non-conf games. still have the division champ week. after that do a twelve team playoff. thus allowing all teams that idealy make a good case for themselves, including those non-bcs teams, a chance at it. give the top two seeds a first week bye. it gives an extra 4 or 5 games to those teams, thus making for a 15 or 16 game season (some teams already play 14). the teams that don't make it to the playoff can still have a postseason like game. keep the bowls. they will await there opponent after they are eliminated from the playoffs. the last two teams remaining play each other for the nat'l champ. think about it. there are what, 30 bowl games + already. twenty teams that ain't in the playoff could be invited to a bowl game, accept there bid, then await, if neccessary, there opponent (that got eliminated from the playoff). the later they're eliminated the better bowl game they get. so my idea keep the bowls and add a playoff.

Resolved Question: I have an idea for the NCAA that could help the BCS.?
We all know playoffs are better but they are not happening for a while so....What they could do is have all BCS conferences have 12 or 16 teams.
I will stop here because many people are laughing... Basketball has many programs that are basketball only in higher or different divisions.
The Big East could split feeding needed teams to the Big Ten and the ACC.
ACC 16 teams Big Ten 15 (cough cough Notre Dame could finally join here).
The MWC and WAC could feed a few into the PAC 10. TCU, BYU, Fresno State, Boise State, Air Force and Utah could all support the required attendance for BCS teams as football only members. Not saying all of them should join but at least 2.
OK this is not perfect but things have been shaken up before it is just an idea that only requires a few moves OUTSIDE DISBANDING THE BIG EAST football conference which nobody would notice or care about considering it is a Basketball conference first and foremost.
Long story short you have 5 BCS conferences that are playing conference championships. You get 5 legit teams into the BCS Championship and Bowls. The odds of a none BCS team who is getting the run around are much less AND now you have 5 spots for at large teams that really deserve it.
You may ask why you would do something like this? It lowers the amount of bad teams sneaking into the BCS by having a Championship game to filter out the Oregon States or Cincinnati's.
Will the BCS make more money... yes (bigger programs are more likely to get in this way as at larges).
Will the polls be more balanced ... yes (all National Title contenders played the same amount of games).
Will the rose bowl still get a Big Ten/PAC Ten game...yes (they would also not have to have an Oregon State entry to lower the ratings).
Will the lower conferences balance out more now... yes (a few of the MWC/WAC teams have no business being in the lower Conferences).
