Im from Boise and Im planning on taking a road trip to California this weekend. Im going to go through Neveda and I have everything set EXCEPT where I can find nearest gas stations (road trip). I will not be using a navigation system and I don't want to get stranded because of gas. Is there any websites where I can input my travel and it will tell me the nearest gas stations? Any tips? Resolved Question: Just the facts......?
FACT: While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin hired Steven Silver, a former chief of staff for Sen. Ted Stevens, to lobby Congress for earmarks. Wasilla received around $27 million in federal money, about as much as Boise, Idaho. Boise has a population of 200,000 people, compared with Wasilla's 10,000. Earmarked funds went to sewage improvements and improving roads connecting the town to a local ski resort. As for the Bridge to Nowhere, Palin initially supported using federal funds to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to Gravina Island, which has 50 residents and a small airport. It was not until the plan was ridiculed that she withdrew her support. Critics contend she still supports using federal money to build a 3.4 mile Road to Nowhere on the island for $26 million -- from the funds for the bridge. SHE KEPT THE MONEY!!!!...And at one point, John McCain even criticized her earmarks. FACT: In 2007, Palin announced a bounty for wolves. Why? Because wolves prey on moose and caribou, two favorite targets for hunters in Alaska. So Palin instituted a program to encourage hunters to kill wolves so that there would be more moose and caribou for hunters to kill. A lawsuit by Defenders of Wildlife resulted in the Alaska Superior Court ruling that the state Department of Fish and Game did not have the authority to institute a bounty program. A state program to shoot wolves and bears from the air continues, and on August 26, 2008, Ballot Measure 2, which would have stopped the aerial gunning of predators, was defeated by state voters. Palin is also a hunter and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. In addition, Palin has sued the Bush administration to delist polar bears under the Endangered Species Act because the protection of polar bears interferes with drilling for oil and gas. Palin even penned an op-ed for the New York Times, explaining her scientific arguments against protecting polar bears. Isn't it funny how her op-ed doesn't mention drilling for oil? FACT: She says she will be an advocate for special needs kids, but Palin actually slashed funding for schools for special needs kids by 62% There's so much more, please go to the fact checker websites before you throw your supprt behind this person. Voting Question: Should I stay with Wal-Mart for work or look for something else?
I have not gone back to work since my chemo for my cancer ended a few weeks ago.I'd rather go back after I see my cancer doctor on September 9th and go though my MRI on September 3rd.My older brother in Washington State says that I should keep on working at Wal-Mart as they are already working with me on my "medical leave of absence" from work. I still have to contact my doctor's over this and have no idea on what to tell them to give Wal-Mart or should I go in and give to them myself!? I'm thinking of applying for jobs at our local hotels like Best Western or Marriot(my parent's know the owners there) ,Beals, Aaron's or maybe one of my town's dollars stores. Other places I'm questioning are Pizza Hut, a Mexican Food place and maybe a gas station(coffee shop or sub shop inside) . I also want the EDD's help with this problem as well if my family will help me with it of course. Much as I want to go back to work,I'm worried about job discrimination with my cancer recovery on going back to work or even looking and changing jobs for work. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? My state does not have state unemployment for people going though or recovering from cancer. Stupid leaders in Boise !! I know that California and other states have this , but not Idaho!! Thanks for the help everyone!! I've been employed by then since March of 2007. I work in overnight maintenance. So yes,I've been employed by them for a long time. I'm still recovering from chemo.It isn't something like a cold or a flu which last 24 hours or a few days. (more...)

Resolved Question: Unemployed, all bills due, and about to be evicted. Where can a family find emergency assistance?
I got fired from my job in June for lack of sales. I've gone to unemployment, got denied unemployment insurance. Applied for jobs at several places locally, but don't have ANY money for gas to commute the 40 mile drive to boise where I could probably get work. Welfare isn't an option, because we didn't qualify for it, and even if we had they only provide $309 per month. My wife, my 4 yr old and I are literally at the point where a miracle is necessary to save us from homelessness. out of desperation I even started checking out the work from home online stuff, 99.9% of which are scams, and the .1% that arern't cost $97 dollars, or $197 dollars. We're really, royally screwed,and need help. anyone got any idaes? (more...)
