Hidden Idaho: Including Boise, Sun Valley, and Yellowstone National Park (Hidden Travel)
Hidden Idaho: Including Boise, Sun Valley, and Yellowstone National Park (Hidden Travel) Hidden guides combine unique travel choices, outdoor adventures and little-known locales into a guide where vacations meet adventures. Each guide includes detailed maps, complete internet information for each listing, highlighted author favorites, suggested itineraries and walking and driving tours. In Hidden Idaho, well-respected veteran travel writer Richard Harris balances coverage of Idaho's growing travel facilities, including dude ranches, alpine cabin rentals, and secluded fishing lodges, with extensive details on the state's many natural attractions. Truly two guides in one, Hidden Idaho serves as both a travel guide and an outdoor adventure handbook with full listings describing 53 parks, 29 wildlife-viewing spots, 25 trout streams, and 143 campgrounds. It reveals those uniquely Idaho spots, including 40 ski resorts and 10 hot springs plus 23 mom 'n' pop diners and 6 local wineries. Hidden Idaho also zeros in on the state's many out-of-the-ordinary sites like the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, the Swiss Village Cheese Factory, and the Oasis Bordello Museum.

Resolved Question: Would this system for a college football play-off work?
my idea of how college footballs play-off system would work..I'm gonna use the standings from this season..that might make it easier to understand.. first off: EVERYBODY needs to have divisions in their conference..(Big10, Big East, Pac-10, Mountain West, WAC and Sun-Belt all don't have divisions) second: put the independents in a friggin conference..(for the purpose of showing how this will work I'm putting Navy in the Sun Belt) ACC: Virginia Tech(9-4,5-3), Boston College(9-4,5-3) Big12: Oklahoma(12-1,7-1), Missouri(9-4,5-3) BigTen:Penn State(11-1,7-1), Ohio State(10-2,7-1) SEC:Florida(12-1,7-1(technically8-1)), Alabama(12-1,8-0(technically8-1)) Pac-10:USC(11-1,8-1), Oregon State(9-3,7-2) Big East:Cincinnati(11-2,6-1), Pittsburgh(9-3,5-2) Mountain West:Utah(12-0,8-0), TCU(10-2,7-1) C-USA:East Carolina(9-4,6-2), Tulsa(10-3,7-1) *Sun Belt:Navy(8-5), Troy(8-4,6-1)* *MAC:Buffalo(8-5,5-3), Ball State(12-1,8-0)* WAC:Boise State(12-0,8-0), Hawaii(7-6,5-3) The conferences with the worst overall win percentage are excluded from the playoffs..this will, in theory, make teams more interested in playing teams in other conferences and set up some intense match-ups(could you imagine how great it would've been if Florida and Oklahoma had played in the regular season?)..So the Sun Belt and MAC are out this season.. That leaves 18 teams..9 of which won their conference..So first off we separate these 18 into 2 groups..the champions and the non-champions..then they get seeded..this is based off of the overall record and strength of schedule(for sake of time and not wanting to check the sos I'm gonna just place them wherever)..The top 3 seeds will have bye's Group A-The Champions #1 seed-Utah #2 seed-Oklahoma #3 seed-Florida #4 seed-Boise State #5 seed-PennState #6 seed-USC #7 seed-Cincinnati #8 seed-VTech #9 seed-ECU Group B-The Runner-Ups #1 seed-Alabama #2 seed-Ohio State #3 seed-TCU #4 seed-Tulsa #5 seed-Missouri #6 seed-Boston College #7 seed-Oregon State #8 seed-Pitt #9 seed-Hawaii So the group A matchups would be 4 v 9 Boise State v ECU 5 v 8 PennState v Virginia Tech 6 v 7 USC v Cincinnati Utah has a bye Oklahoma has a bye Florida has a bye And group B matchups would be 4 v 9 Tulsa v Hawaii 5 v 8 Missouri c Pittsburgh 6 v 7 Boston College v Oregon State Alabama has a bye Ohio State has a bye TCU has a bye The system is one-and-done..lose and your season is over..win and your one step closer to the national title.. #1 seed plays winner of 6v7 #2 seed plays winner of 5v8 #3 seed plays winner of 4v9 So..this is how it would look so far(in my opinion) GroupA #1 Utah v #6 USC #2 Oklahoma v #5 PennState #3 Florida v #4 Boise State Group B #1 Alabama v #7 Oregon State #2 Ohio State v #5 Missouri #3 TCU v #4 Tulsa Those 6(3 in each 'division') games would be played..The highest surviving seed would then get a bye while the other 2 teams plays to see who would be opposite them in the semi-final game.. So here's the breakdown of that Group A #3 Florida v #6 USC Oklahoma(#2) has bye Group B #2 Ohio State v #3 TCU Alabama(#1) has bye winner of quarterfinal moves on the play in semi-final(duh) #2 Oklahoma v #3 Florida #1 Alabama v #2 Ohio State winners or those games play each other for national title..higher ranked team is "home" team(although game will be played on neutral field..)If both are same number than coin toss prior to game will determine who is 'home' team.. #1 Alabama v #3 Florida #3 Florida is national champ.. This would take up about as much time as the bowl season does..so it wouldn't be all that much of a change to the season..and there could be some kind of consolation to the tams that participated..and a bonus to the teams that were in the title game and a bigger one to the winner..and a couple spare dollars here and there for all of the teams(with winning records) in the conference of the champion.. Resolved Question: This year if there were BCS playoffs who would be in it and how many teams?
Mine would be a 32 team playoff like this 25. Virginia Tech 8-4 Vs 8. Penn State 11-1 9. Boise State 12-0 Vs 24. Florida State 8-4 10. Ohio State 10-2 Vs 23. Pitt 8-3 22. Northwestern 9-3 Vs 11. Resolved Question: Would you support this in college football? (at least the general idea)?
I think that there are too many bowl games and it is not much of an accomplishment to go to one, so I would like to see something like this. (with 8 team play-off & do away with automatic selection due to conference - like PAC 10, Big 12, SEC. . .) BCS games: (all warm weather or domes) FIESTA BOWL ? Glendale, Arizona/?/ORANGE BOWL ? Miami Gardens/?/ROSE BOWL ? Pasadena/?/SUGAR BOWL ? New Orleans Add in for playoff system: COTTON BOWL ? Dallas (move to new stadium) /?/CAPITAL ONE BOWL ? Orlando/?/CHICK-FIL-A BOWL ? Atlanta This system could have the original BCS bowls rotate with only one each year hosting a first round game. Keep the following games: SUN BOWL ? El Paso/?/GATOR BOWL ? Jacksonville, Fl/?/LIBERTY BOWL ? Memphis/?/OUTBACK BOWL ? Tampa/?/HOLIDAY BOWL ? San Diego/?/INSIGHT BOWL ? Tempe/?/CHAMPS SPORTS BOWL ? Orlando/?/LAS VEGAS BOWL ? Las Vegas/?/ALAMO BOWL ? San Antonio/?/MUSIC CITY BOWL ? Nashville/?/EMERALD BOWL ? San Francisco/?/ARMED FORCES BOWL ? Ft. Worth /?/MEINEKE CAR CARE BOWL ? CHARLOTTE, NC Get rid of the following games: INDEPENDENCE BOWL ? Shreveport; this is the most boring place for college kids to go! /?/MOTOR CITY BOWL ? Detroit; would prefer to also keep as it is in the NE if they can keep it funded/?/HUMANITARIAN BOWL ? Boise, Idaho; but is sponsored by Roady?s Truck Stops! /?/GMAC BOWL ? Mobile, AL; another close call, but pain to get there/?/TEXAS BOWL ? Houston/?/NEW ORLEANS BOWL ? New Orleans/?/HAWAII BOWL ? Honolulu/?/POINSETTIA BOWL ? San Diego/?/PAPAJOHNS.COM BOWL ? Birmingham, AL/?/NEW MEXICO BOWL ? Albuquerque, NM/?/INTERNATIONAL BOWL ? Toronto, Ontario/?/EAGLEBANK BOWL ? Washington, D.C./?/ST. Resolved Question: How would you rank NCAA Football conferences?
How would you rank the 11 conferences in D-1A Football? And why? 1) Big 12 - No team in the Big 12 is ever out of a game with their offenses, and their defenses only need to show until they have a 2 TD lead 2) MWC - Obviously the bottom of the MountainWest is as low as they get; but BYU, Utah and TCU are good teams. Wyoming beat UT. 3) SEC - They're a close 2nd, but a lower MWC team (Wyoming) beat Tenn, LSU had a hard time beating Auburn and Troy, Auburn had a hard time beating UT Martin and lost to WVU, UGa had a hard time putting away Auburn and was rather unimpressive against Ariz State. 4) BigTen - Ohio State and Penn State are good. Michigan State is mediocre. The rest of the conference just descends from there. 5) ACC - At least it's competitive 6) Pac-10 - USC and Oregon State carry the rest of the conference. Cal can make a surprise from time-to-time 7) MAC - Ball State, Central Michigan and Western Michigan con compete in most conferences (not win, but go .500). Toledo has to get some props for beating Michigan 8) WAC - Fresno beat Rutgers and Boise is still undefeated. Gotta give credit where it's due. 9) BigEast - Pitt and WVU have talent, but there's really not a good team in the conference 10) Sun Belt - Troy played LSU and Ohio State, Mid Tenn State beat Maryland, FIU isn't the worst team in the country anymore 11) C-USA - East Carolina was fun for two weeks. Tulsa has showed their true colors. (more...)

Resolved Question: How can the sun set in Boise, ID AFTER it sets in Denver, CO?
Boise is wayyyyyy north of Denver, how can the sunset be so much later in the day than either Denver or Seattle, WA? I guess I'm not understanding it right, or it's not being explained correctly. Seattle is NORTH of Boise, so understandably has an earlier sunset in the winter, but Sacramento is way SOUTH of Boise, yet Boise's sunset is an hour later... Time Zones don't matter as the sun is coming east to west, in other words the sun is down in New York long before Seattle, so a different time zone doesn't make the sun stay up longer. HELP!!! Resolved Question: Pretty sure this is a luv-it-or-hate-it. YOU MUST LUV IT. I wrote it just for you. Do you understand?
this poem is half way between here and somewhere, maybe a stepping stone only, between poems: hop scotch the rose crystal there?s an old man outside of town follow the dusty road to his door the gravel squeaks underfoot but a simple stone called rose crystal captures the sun telling me there's a new paradigm this perfect translucent hexagon a prize for any collector but for me only an omen a sign a mystery so still the night come alive an insect-driven manic throbbing the skies you cannot see in the city the universe is a backgammon game each piece carefully laid into its place hou hou do you know who speaks? you're not from these parts the retched and pitiless demons alight no, no no just a common house cat in a fit. you are a city boy looming down and unsteady like dough spread under the roller wavering tip to tip and side to side flaps down screaming and whistling intensifying commanding deafening the transport dancing down, but you know that this will not consume you it's coming in a bit further in boise and a cah cha cha boom crackle the cheaper the speakers the louder they play don?t they? beyond street lights this other world to park the car anywhere but softly there glares his houselights like the eyes of our souls like the jack-o-lantern?s dancing candle what you know and what you seek converge beyond the daily drumbeats in the timelessness in this placelessness where hearts unfold but you do not know from whence they come the old man reads the stones he comes alive in them many stories if i wanted science i have had it and i am not without my fears I am looking beyond myself because i know one thing that is i lie hidden to myself beyond my understanding and masked behind many layers and so much ?to do about nothing? secluded cold and intense Thanks, Driedfred. Resolved Question: 2008-09 Football Conference Champions?...?
I pick these teams to win their respective conferences: Big East: Pittsburgh Big Ten: Ohio State (National Champions) Big 12: Oklahoma ACC: Clemson SEC: Georgia MAC: Central Michigan C-USA: Tulsa MWC: BYU ( 60% confident they are BCS bound) Pac-10: Arizona State Sun Belt: Troy WAC: Boise State Those are my picks. What do you think? What are yours? (more...)

Resolved Question: Should the Pac-10 add 2 more teams so the conf. could have a championship game and start earning more respect?
If so, which 2 teams should the conference add? Several suitable teams are Fresno State, Boise State, or Hawaii(even after the Georgia blowout, they'll be around). I believe the Pac-10 is easily the 2nd toughest conference in all the land. Here's my current ranking of conference strength: 1) SEC 2) Pac-10 3) Big-12 4) Big- East (only 8 teams, but 7 of them are quality) 5) ACC 6) Big- 10 (consistent Rose Bowl beat downs and National Championship blowout losses. After the top couple teams, the rest of the conference just isn't good and very overrated) 7) WAC 8) Mountain West 9) C-USA 10) MAC 11) Sun Belt 12) Big Sky 13) Notre Dame I know about the Big Sky (D.II) but I just had to take a shot a Notre Dame and list those teams ahead of Golden Domers.
