Phosphatidylserine 100 mg 60 Capsules
Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid - a molecule made up of two fatty acids and a phosphate group attached to a glycerol backbone. Phosphatidylserine is concentrated in cells of the brain, where it may be related to brain cell function and neurotransmitter metabolism.
Phosphatidylserine is also found in other cell membranes, such as muscle tissue and cells of the immune system, where they may play both a structural and functional role in muscle metabolism and immune system function.
1.Prevents muscle breakdown
2.Stimulates immune function
3.Maintains brain function, memory and cognitive ability
Phosphatidylserine has been shown to reduce blood levels of cortisol - a hormone produced in response to stress. One of the effects of elevated cortisol production is accelerated amino acid catabolism - which could lead to muscle breakdown. Suppression of cortisol levels could theoretically maintain muscle mass during periods of increased stress and intense training.
As a brain-support nutrient, Phosphatidylserine has been validated through double-blind trials for improving memory, learning, concentration, word recall, and mood in middle-aged and elderly subjects with dementia or age-related cognitive decline. In animal studies, long-term phosphatidylserine treatment has been shown to maintain the integrity of neuronal structures in the brain which have been altered by the aging process. These are logical findings, as Phosphatidylserine is particularly enriched in the brain and has an excellent benefit-to-risk profile when compared to traditional treatments for memory loss.

Pet Food Politics: The Chihuahua in the Coal Mine
Marion Nestle, acclaimed author of Food Politics, now tells the gripping story of how, in early 2007, a few telephone calls about sick cats set off the largest recall of consumer products in U.S. history and an international crisis over the safety of imported goods ranging from food to toothpaste, tires, and toys. Nestle follows the trail of tainted pet food ingredients back to their source in China and along the supply chain to their introduction into feed for pigs, chickens, and fish in the United States, Canada, and other countries throughout the world. What begins as a problem "merely" for cats and dogs soon becomes an issue of tremendous concern to everyone. Nestle uncovers unexpected connections among the food supplies for pets, farm animals, and people and identifies glaring gaps in the global oversight of food safety.

Open Question: Name of French Film? Maybe from the 70's about being upset from the metro being closed?
Young girl goes to Paris to see uncle and ride metro but the workers are on strike. She causes havoc around city. Movie is very bright and vivid and ends with one huge food fight. A famous director made it although I cant recall his name. I teach a class and wanted to use it but I can't figure out what it is called.

Open Question: Friend has severe depression - can he get govt assistance for his bills?
Close friend has depression, anxiety, and OCD. Seems debilitating, he had a breakdown and quit his job over a year ago and is now very poor, no health coverage, etc.
He has been seeing the "free" psychiatrists and pscyhologists through outreach programs, they have been giving him high doses of Seroquel and some other drugs I cannot recall. Seen some improvement, but not to the point where he feels he can work full time.
What options does he have moving forward? Can he get social security money? How will he get housing, food, the other life necessities?
What steps does he need to take to get govt assistance and what is expected time to get qualified and some money?
he started a part time job a month ago which is working out "ok" for now, but not enough money to survive. Thoughts and advice from people familar with these types of situations is appreciated.

Resolved Question: What do you make of this dream?
So, I usually have pretty vivid/odd dreams. But this one was eceptionally so and I was wondering what your input is on it.
It starts off that I am suddenly standing in the front lawn of the house I grew up in. My husband is by my side, but my son is nowwhere to be seen, and I am no longer pregnant. Its like I just wake up standing there. I look around and its completly dead. No sound, no wind, no people. I ask Jimmy if he knows what happened, he said something is in the back of his head but he cant recall it. In this dream this is not the house i grew up in, but the house we live in now. i had a feeling time had passed since i was awake, 19 days for some reason. i freak out because i have 3 dogs and im worried about them. i tell jimmy we should go in the house and see if they are ok. he said theres no point, everything is dead and too much time has passed. i convinced him to go look anyway, so we headed into the house. i went downstairs and i first saw my zeenuh, a min. daschund, leaning against a coffee table with brown ooze coming out of her chest. she was stiff, but her face still looked alive. i touched her and she fell over. i turned around and in the corner i saw my dog chuckie, an 80 lbs mastif/pit mix, laying on his back with his paws up, extremly emaciated and cuts all over his body. he also seemed to have shrank in overall size. i go up to him, he doesnt appear to be alive. i touch him, he starts to breathe, i call to him franticly and he gets up and starts wagging his tail, so happy to see me. at this time my other dog blaze, a 35 lbs pit, comes up to me, a little skinny but otherwise perfect shape. im so glad these 2 dogs were alive, but zeenuh was my baby and i think she is dead. i take the other 2 dogs upstairs and give them a bowl of water from the sink, which i am amazed still has working water. suddenly zeenuh appears out of nowhere, happily drinking out of the bowl! i went on the search for food and found a half-gone bag of dog food in the dining room. just as i was about to feed them a hear loud noise outside. a whole bunch of trucks with people in radioactive suits and masks roll up, spraying this gas. once rolls right up to the front door and sprays this aweful stuff into the house. it stinks and burns my throat and eyes. my husband the dogs and i run upstairs into what was my brother's old bedroom and shut the door. this gas is still leaking in so i grab some clothes that are on the floor and stuff them in the crack. i notice these clothes i am grabbing were my son's clothes.... i realize i have a son thats not with me and start to panic.
and this is when i wake up.
your thoughts?
no i have not watched any shows like that... i also be havin dreams that im fighting zombies... that happens alot lol.

Open Question: Is ones racial background relevant to their susceptibility to food poisoning?
Now, before flaming me to a crisp here as a racist, I call to your attention Montezuma's Revenge (a.k.a. Traveler's diarrhea). Albeit, this is a developed immunity, but the point remains.
Recently, I and another Caucasian attended a Cantonese banquet with a dozen other (Chinese) guests. The two of us alone suffered food poisoning, though everyone shared dishes (family-style).
Can ones racial background confer a degree of immunity to certain food-borne organisms (enterotoxins or bacteria)? Certainly, a strong immune system decreases ones chances, and a given family may simply have better genes, but can ones region of origin have a similar effect? I recall a case of an adoptee suffering issues due to a lack of natural immunity due to the lack of hygienic practices in the region they were moved to. Are Third-World residents more or less prone?

Resolved Question: I'm in my second pregnancy, first trimester...is it normal to feel overwhelmingly tired?
I don't remember being this drained/tired with my first pregnancy. However, during my first, I was able to take long naps. With my second pregnancy, and in my first trimester, and having a family to take care of, I am just totally drained and I lack energy/motivation.
I gave my book, "What to Expect, When You're Expecting", to my friend when she was pregnant with her first child, and so I don't have anything to reference to.
Is it possible that during the first trimester, your body is working extra hard to develope the baby? My first born is 4 years old, so it's been a while, and I can't quite recall.
Anyone out there that has some great advice on how to keep my energy up so that I can keep up with the rest of my family?
I've also had Gastric Bypass too, (I'm two years out), and I find it difficult sometimes to keep food down. I have to work extra hard in order to keep my body nurished for the baby since I'm unable to eat a lot.
Thank you in advance. :-)

Open Question: Who sings this? A guy and a girl both sing in it!?
I need helping finding this song, I don't really know any of the lyrics but it's kind of an alternative-ish song, it's newish, a guy and a girl both sing in it, IT'S NOT THE REGINA SPEKTOR AND BEN FOLDS SONG! I think it says something along the lines of 'I'd do [insert lyrics here] for you' but I'm not sure, that's just what I recall from my poor memory lol. It mentions something about food too I think? Maybe strawberries. I know this is very vague but any help is appreciated! :) Much thanks,

Open Question: Is it time for the Prime Minister to recuse certain appointments due to conflict of interest ?
and review the efficacy that existing and potential placements have on diplomatic policy and process. Rohitha has stated in the press that certain posts have been filled with "caretaker" diplomats until new corps can be trained but I wonder why there are newly created appointments at new venues staffed with persons without any diplomatic expertise and truly nepotistic connections? I would remind that for every overstep of power there is a remedy. When common sense is not a sensibility, a full accounting of diplomatic resources is neccesitated. This includes a full review of qualifications of the present and past diplomatic porfolio. I wither the thought of how some people achieved their thoughts on democratic diplomacy. Selective recollection of conversation is no excuse for prohibition of established procedures of good governance.

Just because we have had a protracted war on terrorism it does not mean that a fisticuff between and within the three branches is acceptable. I would hasten all those I spoke with to recall that the primary policy of Sri Lanka that was discussed was equal opportunity for growth, equal representation under the law, equal distribution of services, equal justice. I am sure that if a certain 24 year old son-in-law-to-be found himself party to an executable offense in the Middle East that the Foreign Ministry would be in an uproar, but I have to hear a query about 2 nationals that were executed yesterday. I am not commenting on Saudi legistlature, or the justice or injustice of such. My inquiry is rooted in the fact that the Ministry that oversees such affairs is apparently more interested in cocktail parties and junkets with golf club managers than it is in its citizens. The stability, policy and efficacy of a government cannot be based on whether the Chief Executive is in town. It cannot be based on created false tests to verify standards. It cannot be bantered or bartered about. I see much commendable development in Sri Lanka but future development will not be based on political posturing/jockeying it will be based on the fullfilment of the equitable goals to bring energy, quality education, due process, security and better quality of life to the many. It will not happen overnight and it cannot be fabricated, it must be grown-thus prefabrication is out of the question. There is no such thing as democracy-in-a-box, but the unruly behaviour that has spread throughout the world will be put in check, everywhere including Sri Lanka. What I am seeing in this article is the propogation of engineered foods, an item that is not a part of our domestic or foreign policy. The Ministries are to forward the National Policy not personal agenda. It is apparent that a National/International Policy Statement needs to be created by the Executive and the Cabinet. Line item #1 is to eliminate terrorism while maintaining sovreignity. Prior to making appointments consider the dis-appointments of misplaced placements. Furthermore, refrain from tete-a-tete's with foreign leaders in hotel rooms when there exists government accomodations for meetings that pertain to governmental affairs. Consider this my request to Nasheed for full divulgence to the Executive. Please pass my congratulations to Linda Spelenwade(sp?) my number is at the LA Consul and with the President's Secretary.
This is to be a time of national pride - I ask all our citizens to cloak yourselves in our national identity. Its our flag and our country.
