Rohitha has stated in the press that certain posts have been filled with "caretaker" diplomats until new corps can be trained but I wonder why there are newly created appointments at new venues staffed with persons without any diplomatic expertise and truly nepotistic connections? I would remind that for every overstep of power there is a remedy. When common sense is not a sensibility, a full accounting of diplomatic resources is neccesitated. This includes a full review of qualifications of the present and past diplomatic porfolio. I wither the thought of how some people achieved their thoughts on democratic diplomacy. I am sure that if a certain 24 year old son-in-law-to-be found himself party to an executable offense in the Middle East that the Foreign Ministry would be in an uproar, but I have to hear a query about 2 nationals that were executed yesterday. My inquiry is rooted in the fact that the Ministry that oversees such affairs is apparently more interested in cocktail parties and junkets with golf club managers than it is in its citizens. The stability, policy and efficacy of a government cannot be based on whether the Chief Executive is in town. It cannot be based on created false tests to verify standards. It cannot be bantered or bartered about. I see much commendable development in Sri Lanka but future development will not be based on political posturing/jockeying it will be based on the fullfilment of the equitable goals to bring energy, quality education, due process, security and better quality of life to the many. It will not happen overnight and it cannot be fabricated, it must be grown-thus prefabrication is out of the question. There is no such thing as democracy-in-a-box, but the unruly behaviour that has spread throughout the world will be put in check, everywhere including Sri Lanka. What I am seeing in this article is the propogation of engineered foods, an item that is not a part of our domestic or foreign policy. The Ministries are to forward the National Policy not personal agenda. It is apparent that a National/International Policy Statement needs to be created by the Executive and the Cabinet. Line item #1 is to eliminate terrorism while maintaining sovreignity. Prior to making appointments consider the dis-appointments of misplaced placements. Furthermore, refrain from tete-a-tete's with foreign leaders in hotel rooms when there exists government accomodations for meetings that pertain to governmental affairs. Consider this my request to Nasheed for full divulgence to the Executive. Please pass my congratulations to Linda Spelenwade(sp?) my number is at the LA Consul and with the President's Secretary. This is to be a time of national pride - I ask all our citizens to cloak yourselves in our national identity. Its our flag and our country. (more...)

Hello there My family and I want to take a vacation to Florida. We are very interested in the Tampa beaches like Indian Rocks Beach, Bellair Beach etc and considering a beach condo rental. We also like Ft.Myers area because it also looks pretty in pictures. We want to rent a condo or house there as well. What is a nice beach town near Ftmyers where its quiet and rentals are available? Please help us decide which area is more suited for a quiet family vacation on the beach with an infant. WHere do we get more bang for our buck in terms of rentals tampa area or ft.myers? No hotels, just vacation rentals either condo or house(if its not too expensive). Our budget is maximum 1700 for the week for the accomodations. (we got opening ceremony tickets and men's and women's hockey!!)... but we're worried about accomodations now. we're not looking for anything extravagant. In fact, the cheaper the better. Does anyone know what would be the best option for us? I've tried looking on Kijiji and CraigsList to find houses for rent, but they're all REALLY expensive. im going on a bike trip from flinders street station->sorrento->ferry to queenscliff->back to flinders street station (circle around) i have basic plans for food and routes but the problem is that we are students and we can't afford to pay 3~4 days on accomodations such as motels and hotels. and we can't just go to local parks and set up a tent to sleep in. what i know about the accomodation prices in those area are ranged between 90-120 minimum. is there any other way that we can't get some sleep apart from having us sleep on the road? and is there any place that we can possibly sleep at a cheap price which we can afford. the trip will cosist of 2-4 students but i reckon it's only going to be 3 maximum. please help us! hi guys, details: february 2009, a couple, toronto to S. Africa, for 10-12 days. Doing cape town and attractions (simons town, cape point, cape good hope, V & A waterfront, camps bay, clifton, false bay, ), Durban beaches and area, Garden route.. Questions from you expert: 1. Anything else i a m missing and i should visit there? 2. Will I be able to drive in the right hand side of the roads or too dangerous and in accident for me? I dont know how to drive in right hand side ... 3. How do I go around in cape town and other places? from durban and capetown ok, i will have to fligh..but what about inside..from one palce to another to attractions, to hotel, to beaches,...use the taxi? hotel shuttle? locla bus? hire a car? 4) What are the best beaches where i can swim? I know camps bay and clifton are hyped and good to go but cant swim right? durban beaches you can swim.. 5) tours..to visit all these palces and guides..someoone told me to go there and arranged a guide and tour from the hotel...is that how it works/.? 6) What is the weather like in february? cold and windy? or sunny and warm? 7) Any place, guidewhere i can look for booking accomodations? Should i book flights and accoodations by myself online or through a local travel agent? 8) Last but not least: any decent and reasonable cost game safari places else than Kruger, as i cant go that north in 10-12 days...Malaria shot needed?
