The Lolo Trail: A History and a Guide to the Trail of Lewis and Clark
THE LOLO TRAIL: A HISTORY AND GUIDE TO THE TRAIL OF LEWIS AND CLARK by Ralph S. Space (second edition) has a preface by Stephen Ambrose, in which he calls the author "the expert on the Lolo Trail. (Ralph Space) lived and breathed the Lolo Trail and with this book he has left us with a superb history but also a practical guide that's very useful for visitors who may want to discover the Trail during the Bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition." Ralph Space describes each day's drama during Lewis and Clark's odysseys on The Lolo Trail in 1805 and 1806. He analyzes Lewis and Clark's decisions with the crisp authority of someone who has lived his whole life in the headwaters of the Columbia River. Space also tells about the Native Americans who used this ancestral route to the buffalo, the trappers and traders who successfully adapted to this place, and the adventures of the U.S. Forest Service rangers in this wild and unforgiving country. THE LOLO TRAIL is als! o a guide to this rugged geography, so much of which is unchanged from the day of the Corps of Discovery.

Resolved Question: Anyone know what this present might be?
My parents told me a week ago that one of my presents for Christmas is coming from Idaho. I didn't believe them at first, but today a large package arrived at my house and it's return address said, "Boise Idaho."
I am obsessed with outer space. And I said I wanted a telescope.
But I can't be sure.
I don't know if it's necessary but here are the measurements of the box.
Weight: 32 lbs
Height: About 3-4 ft
Width: About 1-1.5 ft
-Thanks for your help.
That's enough answers. I've got what i need.
I appreciate the nice answers people gave.
I'm not ungrateful.
I'm just very excited.

6.I don't have a whole bunch of space
7.i've never taken care of small animals before but that's all my mom will allow

Voting Question: is it okay to leave a tube amp in the cold?
Im kicking my husband out of the house to make room for the new baby. well kinda.. the room that he is using for his guitar stuff is going to be the babies room so he needs to move his stuff to a room that is out side and not connected to the main house. its insulated and has carpet, but no heating. i live in southern idaho so the lowest it gets in the winter is about -10F on the coldest days with wind! he is worried about his amps being out there then turning them on to play, cuz that's where he would play.
do you think condensation would be a problem or having them cold then hot?
we are going to put a space heater out there but it would only be ran when someone is out there.
It would not get below freezing in the room. just cold... so there would be no ice.

Resolved Question: Where can I find election results (real numbers) for third party presidential candidates?
Far as the media is concerned, Obama, and McCain were the only ones running. There were five candidates on my ballot, with a write in space. I want to know how they did.
I seen nothing concerning them on TV, nor was there any mention in the local newspaper.
BTW...The ones I'm interested in are Oregon, Idaho, and national.

Resolved Question: What do you think about the state of Idaho?
I think clean spaces and a lot of mountains.

Resolved Question: What if things were switched around was race really the REAL issue? Read this......very interesting.?
Body: Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin:
what if things were switched around?....think about it.
Would the country's collective point of view be different?
Could racism be the culprit?
Ponder the following:
What if the Obamas had paraded five children
across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed,
pregnant teenage daughter?
What if John McCain was a former president of the
Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the
bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a
divorcee?
What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife
after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no
longer measured up to his standards?
What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar
and had a long affair while he was still married?
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only
became addicted to painkillers but also acquired them
illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating
Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators
accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political
scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the
late 1980s and early 1990s.)
What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent
speaker?
What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?
What if Obama was the one who had military experience
that included discipline problems and a record of crashing (seven?...at
least four verified/confirmed) planes?
What if Obama was the one who was known to
display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management
problem?
What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money
from beer distribution?
What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?
You could easily add to this list.
If these questions
reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would
be as close as they are?
This is what racism does.
It covers up, rationalizes
and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and
emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color
difference.

Resolved Question: Why can't Palin give a decent interview when she got her degree in COMMUNICATIONS?
I mean I know it took her 6 years to get her BACHELOR'S from the U of IDAHO. And she has no higher education than a bachelor's and no education in legislation which is highly unusual, but since she did major in COMMUNICATIONS. Why does she sound like a complete moron everytime she speaks and now they won't let her give any interviews because of it?
I mean if that's her main education (communication) and yet she is terrible at it, how can anyone vote for a ticket with her just a heartbeat away from the presidency? Anyone?
Here are some of my favorites with sources:
?I?ll try to find you some and I?ll bring them to you.? ?Sarah Palin, asked by Katie Couric to cite specific examples of how John McCain has pushed for more regulation in his 26 years in the Senate, CBS interview, Sept. 24, 2008
?Well, it certainly does because our ? our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They?re in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia ? We have trade missions back and forth. We? we do? it?s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where? where do they go? It?s Alaska. It?s just right over the border. It is? from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to? to our state.? ?Sarah Palin, asked by Katie Couric how Alaska?s proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, CBS interview, Sept. 24, 2008
?That?s exactly what we?re going to do in a Palin and McCain administration.? ?Sarah Palin, elevating herself to the top of the ticket, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sept. 18, 2008
?I?m the mayor, I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can?t.?? ?Sarah Palin, as quoted by former City Council Member Nick Carney, after he raised objections about the $50,000 she spent renovating the mayor?s office without approval of the city council
?I watched with the volume all the way down. I thought it was hilarious. I thought she was spot on. ? It was hilarious. Again, didn?t hear a word she said, but the visual, spot on.? ?Sarah Palin, on Tina Fey?s ?SNL? skit interview on FOX News?s ?Hannity & Colmes,? Sept. 17, 2008
?Oil and coal? Of course, it?s a fungible commodity and they don?t flag, you know, the molecules, where it?s going and where it?s not. But in the sense of the Congress today, they know that there are very, very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first. So, I believe that what Congress is going to do, also, is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it?s Americans that get stuck to holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here. It?s got to flow into our domestic markets first.? ?Sarah Palin, billed by John McCain as the nation?s foremost expert on energy, clumsily answering a question while speaking off the cuff at a town hall meeting, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sept. 17, 2008
?The fact is that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers.? ?Sarah Palin, on the two companies which are in fact private entities, Colorado Springs, CO, Sept. 13, 2008
?They?re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.? ?Sarah Palin, on her foreign policy insights into Russia, ABC News interview, Sept. 11, 2008
?Nucular.? ?Sarah Palin, mispronouncing the word ?nuclear? twice, ABC News interview, Sept. 11, 2008
?Perhaps so.? ?Sarah Palin, when asked if we may need to go to war with Russia because of the Georgia crisis, ABC News interview, Sept. 11, 2008
?I have not, and I think if you go back in history and if you ask that question of many vice presidents, they may have the same answer that I just gave you.? ?Sarah Palin, after being asked if she had never met a foreign head of state, despite the fact that every vice president in the last 32 years had met a foreign head of state prior to taking office, ABC News interview, Sept. 11, 2008
?In what respect, Charlie?? ?Sarah Palin, after being asked if she agreed with the Bush Doctrine, ABC News interview, Sept. 11, 2008
?Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that?s with the energy independence that I?ve been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy.? ?Sarah Palin, misstating the actual amount of energy produced by Alaska, which is only 3.5 percent, Sept. 11, 2008
?You?ll be there to defend the innocents from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the deaths of thousands of Americans.? ?Sarah Palin, linking the Iraq war the 9/11 attacks while addressing U.S. soldiers shipping off to Iraq, Fairbanks, Alaska, Sept. 11, 2008
?I told the Congress, ?Thanks, but no thanks,? on that Bridge to Nowhere
