Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 49: A Piece of the Action
This smart, funny episode finds the Enterprise visiting the planet Iotia, where the starship Horizon accidentally left behind Earth materials a century before. During that time, as Captain Kirk (William Shatner) discovers, the Iotians have made much of one of those items, a book called Chicago Mobs of the Twenties. The planet's population has divided into rival gangs who dress, speak, and do violence like the spiritual descendants of Al Capone, plunging Kirk, Spock (Leonard Nimoy), and McCoy (DeForest Kelley) into a facsimile of Earth's colorful and dangerous past.

The episode is played for comedy: Kirk and Spock keep getting kidnapped by the warring hoods, each of whom wants the Federation team to use their technology to defeat the other side. The big payoff, however, is a summit meeting of bosses, where Kirk employs plenty of gangster-movie jargon to get matters settled. --Tom Keogh

Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 53: The Ultimate Computer
Kirk reluctantly agrees to play along with a Federation test of a new supercomputer, designed by the brilliant Dr. Daystrom (William Marshall, the booming baritone stage actor most famous for Blacula) to run a starship almost single-handedly. It does its job too well, locking the human crew out of ship operations and using deadly force during the Federation war games. Spock and McCoy continue their now-legendary banter about man versus machine while Kirk muses over the obsolescence of his own command. Marshall is excellent as a former-boy-wonder genius banking his reputation on this breakthrough, treating his creation like a son. That's not too far from the truth: designed after his brain pattern, this thinking, reasoning, learning machine carries with it the insecurities and desperation of its creator. The fears of the emerging digital revolution explored in The Ultimate Computer in 1968 remain today: what is the fate of man in the face of technological efficiency? Films from 2001: A Space Odyssey and Colossus: The Forbin Project to Demon Seed and The Matrix have echoed these themes, and this Trek episode--primitive special effects, zero-budget sets, and all--stands up to them quite nicely. --Sean Axmaker

Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 59: The Enterprise Incident
An overwrought, highly-stressed Captain Kirk blunders into Romulan space and finds the Enterprise surrounded by enemy vessels, all equipped with strategically valuable cloaking technology. Along with Spock, Kirk is invited to meet with the Romulan commander (Joanne Linville) to discuss the situation, leading to a crisis when the captain suffers a breakdown following Spock's apparent betrayal. Written by story editor Dorothy Fontana (who was unhappy with the final results) and directed by John Meredyth Lucas (who briefly took the producing reins from Gene L. Coon during season two), the episode has a colorful espionage angle, but depends heavily on an improbable romance between Spock and Linville's character. Still, there are things to savor here, especially Kirk's one-and-only appearance with Vulcan/Romulan pointed ears. --Tom Keogh

Resolved Question: should George Lucas completely remake episodes 4,5 and 6 of star wars?
with completely new actors and all modern day film making techniques , like King Kong was??
i was thinking this would be a good move because when i watch the whole Series from episode 1 through to 6 the low tech film making of the 70's is a bit of a let down after the more modern prequels and there are also one ore two inconsistencies that could be changed e.g O'bi Wan not recognizing R2-D2 and C 3PO in episode 4 .
so what do think good idea or bad ??

Resolved Question: What John Steinbeck book was used in One Tree Hill? ?
I was watching One Tree Hill the other day, it was series one ( I don't know the actual episode) In the scene Lucas was on the bus or in the library with Peyton, I can't remember, but he was reading a John Steinbeck book, and I want to know what it was. I have a feeling it was 'The Winter of Our Discontent' but I'm not to sure. Can anyone help?

Resolved Question: Which Power Rangers series was your favourite and which Ranger you looked up to?
I LOVED the TimeForce Series, because it was very exciting and action packed. And I loved the zords as well.
And Lucas (Michael Copon) was my role model. He was cool and a total ladies man, and when I was younger, I was like "I'm going to be just like him =D"

Resolved Question: Will there be a new Star Wars film series?
I have been reading up on the "story" of Star Wars and have found that the story involved has actually continued long after the end of Episode IV.
Many interesting things happen that would make great film series; such as when Luke becomes Jedi Grand Master, marries someone called Mara Jade, trains Leia in the Force, creates the New Jedi Order and teaches new Jedi. Leia marries Han Solo, have three kids, one of them, Jacen Solo, turns to the dark side and takes up the name Darth Caedus, replacing Darth Vader as Dark Lord of the Sith.
I'm convinced that George Lucas, or any one else that might continue the series, would have plenty of stuff to work on if they wanted to make a third series.
