Movie Tickets
Movie Tickets These are the original Mummert Sign Company rusted metal signs! Our artisans "age" each sign with edge wear, minor scratches and spots, and a special rusting process that separates our signs from all others. As a result, each looks like a piece of found Americana art, as if it were a genuine vintage sign. 18" x 24" (Click on image for close-up)

Just the Ticket
Just the Ticket Gary Starke (Andy Garcia) is New York City's supreme scalper. Tickets for the Knicks, MOMA, the pope--you name it, he can get it. To mainstream society, however, Gary doesn't exist. He doesn't work 9 to 5, he doesn't have either a driver's license or a Social Security number, and he isn't even sure he was born in a hospital. Just the Ticket, Richard Wenk's wonderfully understated, well written and ultimately touching romantic comedy, is the story of how Gary finally finds identity. The movie's central premise has Gary trying to score big by scalping tickets for the pope's New York City appearance in order to win back his ex-girlfriend (Andie MacDowell). Both MacDowell and Garcia have been mired in career ruts, so their sexual chemistry is Just the Ticket's biggest surprise. Wenk knows and loves these characters (he based the protagonist on a scalper he met 20 years ago, and he spent five more years pitching the script to numerous studios), and that warmth provides an energy that's so often missing in many Hollywood romantic comedies. Also engaging (and at times heartbreaking) is Richard Bradford, who plays an aging runner who serves as Gary's father figure. MGM inexplicably dumped this picture in the dead of winter in 1999. The DVD--which features audio commentary by Garcia and Wenk, deleted scenes, and a four-page booklet about the making of the film--gives the film the second chance it deserves. --Dave McCoy

Open Question: Why do people worry about getting traffic tickets?
I use to worry like everyone else about getting pulled over & getting a huge traffic ticket. Then i realized that you do not have to pay them because you can work them off by doing community service. The community service that i did was at this one place watching movies for 2 hrs & i would get credit for 8 hrs. LOL! It was like being at home. so why do people worry about tickets & traffic laws when the govt is so easy to get over on? Next time a cop gives you a ticket think of it as a free pass to the movies, LMFAO! (more...)

Open Question: This question is for all you Twilight fans out there?
Okay,so I would just like to say, that I have never read that book nor have I seen that movie. Everyone else seemed to be obsessed with twilight, so I thought maybe I should issue the book out from the library and decide from there whether I should watch the movie or not. One day,I went to the local library, and there was this twilight competition and you get two free movie tickets so I am about to enter it, but there is this question I have to answer. What Twilight character do you most affiliate with/relate to? and why. I have no idea how to answer that question. I was about to borrow that book out but it was already issued out so I requested that book but it turns out that there is 1,234 requests on that book. The competition closes 21 January so please help me to win the competition. The answer that I am most impressed with will get BA. (more...)

Open Question: I'm a leo and he's a libra..?
omg he drives me nuts. He's so reserved and quiet from the beginning I'm always the one who approaches him and talks to him. Everyone says that he likes me, and he shows it too, but he is so reluctant to actually ask me out on a real date! let alone tell me he's true feelings! I always initiate! its so embarrassing! I would call him and he would respond and ask me to go somewhere indirectly, eg. we study the same subject, so he would ask me go just to check out a similar course somewhere, but on that day he'd tell me the school is closed so he can't go. Or he would go watch a movie and text me, if i want to get a ticket. Instead of do you want to come with me?? omg.. help me.. (more...)

Resolved Question: Possibly difficult movie quiz. 10pts to the winner?
Some of these questions are very specific. 10 pts to the first person who answers all of the questions correctly. 1. In Benny & Joon, how does Sam come to live with Benny and Joon? 2. In Practical Magic, what is Gary Hallet's (Aidan Quinn) favorite shape? 3. In Stand By Me, what does Chris Chambers grow up to be? 4. In Clerks, why does Dante get a citation/ticket from the cop? 5. In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) what specific item did Erin hope that Kemper bought in Mexico? You're getting close Marilyn. But think of why Sam is living with them, under what circumstances was it decided. The original Clerks from 1994. And Kemper did buy marijuana, but that's not what Erin wanted. The first Clerks from 1994. And Kemper did buy marijuana, but that's not what Erin wanted. Good job, Jonathan! You win. (more...)
