Resolved Question: Does Yahoo ever get anything right?
On their front page, they said that 27 states are in recession. They list Idaho as one of them, and Idaho has one of the best economies in the US right now, with unemployment still at or below full employment, jobs have increased, homes and business are being built and selling. As a matter of fact, he was basing his numbers largely on unemployment rates being above the national average of 6%, and 31 states are below 6% unemployment.
What ever happened to journalism? Did it die to sensationalism and political agenda?

Resolved Question: Don't we want the smartest team in the white house?
I actually don't understand why anyone would vote for the less educated and bright duo.
Palin= went to 5 different schools before ending up at U of idaho and studying communications
McCain= finished at the very bottom of his class at Annapolis
or
Obama= graduated magna cum laude and president of Harvard law review
Biden= passed the Delaware Bar
I mean, McCain made all this fuss about the bailout, but he went there are it was reported that he didn't even read the three page bill.
Palin is terrified of interviews and of being embarrassed again.
This all makes sense in the city by the bay, why doesn't it make sense elsewhere?
Sigh, just ranting
Yes, it is true that Biden graduated toward the lower end of the spectrum at Delaware, but it was actually McCain who was 6th or 7th lowest in his class.
And, jesus bookshop, you aren't impressed by sigma cum laude from Harvard? You're insane then.

Resolved Question: Can they violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act?
I posted another question about this earlier so feel free to check it. But here are more details:
In 2003 we owned our own business in Oklahoma. We wanted to place an ad in the yellow pages. So we went through the process, they sent us a fax with the ad proof, and my husband "voice verified" the proof. Neither he nor I ever signed anything regarding this ad, thus making this an oral agreement, correct? When the book came out, they had put the wrong number on the ad. We had been making the preliminary payments, but stopped paying when we knew that they screwed up the ad and told them so.
In July of 2006 we sold the business and moved to Idaho. Now, the Yellow Page book is trying to sue us for the remaining balance. We no longer have copies of the ad and cannot prove that they screwed it up.
However, the "voice verification" occurred on August 8, 2003. That would be the date we entered into the "oral agreement", correct? They filed suit, unbeknownst to us, on August 14,2006. (We did not receive any notification until Feb 28, 2008) The statute of limitations for an oral contract in Oklahoma is 3 years, which it appears they exceeded by 6 days. Also, the FDCPA states that when filing suite regarding an oral agreement, the suit must be filed in the state where the defendant lives currently. They filed in Oklahoma even though we live in Idaho.
Can we claim that they have violated the FDCPA on these two grounds? And if so, what are our chances? They have asked for Summary Judgement twice, but have not receieved it after the court received our responses.
Their own paperwork says "Voice Verified 8/8/03" on the photocopy of the ad proof.

We were placing two ads for two separate divisions of the business. The ad proof was correct, but they switched the phone numbers.
In the final book, they switched the phone numbers.

Voting Question: I am looking for .............?
I am looking for someone in Sunvalley Idaho. I go to the white pages for that state and it costs money to get a fricking number. Is there a site anywhere that will give you a phone number or address for free? It seems like all the sites use Intelius to search, which charges.

Resolved Question: How can I get/find members for my band?
I live in Kuna Idaho,(although i spend a lot of my time in Boise Idaho, there are both in the Treasure valley) and I really want to start a band. But, everyone at my highschool SUCKS. I mean, i dont care if your not that good but i mean, they REALLY SUCK. im not looking for niel peart of jimmy page but i mean, well, they suck super bad, and that is the few people that "play instruments" i struggle to find someone who plays and instrument, then it turns out they suck! so i say to myself, well i guess if they try they can get better, so i try to start something with them and they are all music nazi's!! they all have their one tiny genre of music (grunge, classic rock, emo) and they absolutely REFUSE to play or write anything else! also, im only 15, so i cant drive yet, but im taking drivers ed right now so i will be able to next Jan. and i suppose for a bonus question ive been trying to get my brother to practice his bass to be in the band but just doesnt practice enough! help!?!?
lol ok i know flyers could i perhaps get something a little more creative?

Resolved Question: Why does society under-estimate heat?
There was the kid on this page who said that his school doesn't have fans or A/C and he got heat exhaustion. This is very disturbing. Why is it OK or necessary to have heat in winter but not A/C in summer? If power is so expensive, then do away with winter heat. No one will suffer; they just have to wear jackets in class. Not having A/C in summer (unless you live in Idaho or Alaska) is dangerous, unhealthy and stupid.
Growing up, my school didn't have A/C and I still have nightmares about it. By the way we didn't have heat either but that was nothing more than a nuisance. Going to class in summer was a torture!
In other words, if you can afford heat, you can definitely afford A/C. There is no excuse to have one but not the other!
