Open Question: Pizza cooking time, commercial stone bottom pizza oven?
A friend bought a gas fired, stone lined pizza oven for his restaurant, big enough to do 6 large pizzas at once. He has not yet connected the oven so he can only guess how long it will take to cook a pizza.
He would like me to make a unit with 6 timers that would signal when each of the pizzas is ready to come out of the oven. This is an easy project for me but I need to know what range of times it will need to accomodate.
I envision having a display that would show the remaining time for the 6 timers, a button corresponding to each timer and then a row of buttons to select a time. For example, you would push the button marked "16 minutes" and then the button marked "oven location #4". In 16 minutes it will start beeping and the light for location #4 would flash telling you to remove that pizza.
I dont want to have too many time select buttons, 6 might do it I think; 12 14 16 18 20 and 22 minutes would be my guess but honestly I dont have a clue. Would I need it in 1 minute increments? Would 12 be too short for even a thin pizza with few toppings? 22 too long for even a heavily loaded pizza? I could use some input here! Thanks

Open Question: kids and dinner...urggghhh?
what do you give your kids for dinner? my kids are very picky and are 2 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter and they enjoy the simplest meals. pizza, cheeseburgers, mac and cheese, sloppy joes...etc...I use to get frustrated cooking for them and it go to waste now i do the easiest meals...I use to worry myself sick when my daughter was younger but each time, she went to the doctors..her iron level was good.

well, i was wanting to cook something special for my boyfriend of 5 years. well finance now. but anyway, every night we eat things like hot wings, spaghetti, lasagna, pizza, hot pockets, steak, things like that. I really want to make something great that he'll love. something creative i was thinking of stuffed chicken breast but i don't know which recipe would be the best. and i would need tips on how to keep it moist and very tender last week i made stuffed chicken breast for me with tomatoe parsley, garlic cloves and cheese and the mixture was kinda gross i'd like to try something new.. now guys what do you love to eat??? plz tell.

Open Question: i have a couple of pregnancy questions?
1. can i eat pizza? i no its stupid but i know its a hard cheese that goes on top of the pizza but it goes soft obviously when its been cooked and was wondering if its ok? (the whole no soft cheese thing!)
2. im worrying a lot about my 12 weeks scan, ive had very very light spotting when i wipe about 4-5 times since 5 weeks i had a scan at 6 weeks and the baby was fine and had a strong heartbeat but i cant help but worry. i had no pains with these bleeds and my midwife thinks everythings ok but how ca i get over this?
3. when does the baby move out of the pelvis?
4. how far below my belly button will my baby be? im 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant!

Open Question: I am 18 years old and I am just learning how to cook can anybody recommend any good books for beginners? ?
As my new years resolution, I want to learn how to cook because my grandmother use to make delicious food but my mom does not make ANYTHING. I am also eating take out and if not that then my mom is putting pizza in the oven or mac and cheese on the stove. I'm just so sick of eating the same things over and over and I know that all the food is bad for me and I'm trying to watch my health because I knew I could get away with it when I was younger but I will be 19 in April and I need to learn to cook and eat healthy, its becoming clear that I cant depend on anybody but myself to do this.
So please any help/tips/websites/books for beginners! I dont even know which pan is which, that's how much help I need.
I also want the recipes in the book/on the website to be particularly healthy.

Open Question: Frustrated with feeding my kids.?
I believe eating dinner as a family is very important. I have a 5 year old and 4 year old who just reject everything I cook. I'm trying to avoid becoming a short order cook, so I make sure that there is at least yogurt and bread on the table so they eat something and participate in the meal. But I am so sick and tired of wasting my time and energy, not to mention the food, only to hear "I don't like it!" Yeah, well suck it up! I don't give them anything else. They're done for the night and then it's bedtime.
I've read so many books about how to feed your children, how to avoid dinnertime battles, how to feed picky eaters, recipes your kids will love, etc! Unless it's hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets or fries dinnertime is just a waste. I don't make them eat, either. I will not battle with them. I just tell them to join us for dinnertime and then after a while, they can leave. They usually have had a nibble of something, but that's about it. More food down the drain. Another night of being exhausted and unappreciated.
I guess I'm just mostly venting. I would love to hear back from kind, sympathetic people who understand right now. I'd love some advice, suggestions, ideas too. I'm thinking next time I'm going to put dinner on the table, sit their butts in their chairs and leave the room. I just don't want to hear it. Maybe if I'm not there, they'll be more likely to try it. Just remove the potential source of conflict - me.
Please don't tell me that the answer is to serve them pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets and fries every night! I do not want to add to the obesity epidemic in this society! There's got to be another way.

I am almost 17 and cannot cook, so it is usually more easy for me to cook pizza rolls or throw a pizza in the microwave. My downfall is Italian food. I love pizza, pasta etc. I have already kicked my addiction to Pepsi, so that's a start. I am just so unsure about what is okay to eat and what is not. Open Question: Burned myself and need advice?
I was cooking a pizza on a cookie sheet and 450 degrees. when i was taking the pizza of the pan i hit my knuckle on it and there is a small white strip on my knuckle which is the burn and the area around it is bright red. I ran it under cold water for a while but it still hurts very badly, it's nothing major, but what should i do?
