The Castaway Cowboy has all the qualities of Disney's other live-action movies from the 1970s: a clear, straightforward story; serviceable, unfussy acting; a dose of ethnic stereotypes (in this case, the simple, happy-go-lucky islanders); a mixture of sentiment, slapstick, and modest adventure; and a cute, spunky kid, for whom the hero becomes a substitute parent. I know im supposed to put a comma somewhere by the ( ) things but don't know where. -She is constantly popping up in the bunk house under the (transparent) guise of looking for Curly. Also here im not sure if I used the ; symbol correctly and if I didn't what i should do. -Throughout the novel the only women that are portrayed are prostitutes, whom the ranch hands will away their paychecks on instead of saving the money and pursing a different life; the girl in the red dress, who accused Lennie of rape and forced him and George to flee that town; and Curley's wife, who ultimately gets Lennie killed, kills all hope of the dream farm, and takes away the only thing that kept George from being as miserable and screwed up as everyone else on the ranch. A Tale Of Two Presidential Workout Fanatics By MICHELLE MALKIN | Posted Friday, December 26, 2008 4:20 PM PT Ah, the perks of media affection. On Christmas Day, the Washington Post delivered a front-page paean to Barack Obama's workout habits. The 1,233-word ode to O's physical fitness read more like a Harlequin romance novel than an A1 news article. Sighed smitten reporter Eli Zaslow, "The sun glinted off chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games." Drool cup to the newsroom, stat. Bush's "(over)exercise of power" is Obama's "time to reflect." Zaslow imparted us with vital information about buff Bam's regimen: "Obama has gone to the gym for about 90 minutes a day, for at least 48 days in a row." The Post enlightened us with more gushing commentary from Obama friends and associates, who explain how, as the subtitle of Zaslow's opus put it, "Gym Workouts Help Obama Carry the Weight of His Position." For adoring journalists, you see, Obama's workout fanaticism demonstrates the discipline and balance in his life. Apparently, what's good for Obama's glistening pecs is good for the country. Zaslow quoted Obama's Chicago crony Marty Nesbitt, who offered this diagnosis: "He doesn't think of it as something he has to do ? it's his time for himself, a chance for him to reflect. It's his break. He feels better and more revved up after he gets in his workout." And when Obama feels better, the skies will part, the sun will shine (in moderate, environmentally correct, non-global-warming-inducing amounts, of course), and peace will reign worldwide! Too bad the doughy, McDonald's-chomping, coffee-guzzling members of the White House press corps couldn't see the merits of White House exercise over the past eight years. After giggling about his out-of-shape colleagues in the media, Zaslow mentioned in passing that President Bush shares Obama's commitment to health. What he failed to acknowledge is that the same reporters who so greatly admire Obama's lithe figure derided Bush for his training schedule. Former Post writer Jonathan Chait famously attacked Bush three years ago in an opinion piece for the Los Angeles Times headlined "The (over)exercise of power." Recounting how President Bush ran 3.5 miles a day and preached more cross-training to a federal judge, Chait fumed: "Am I the only person who finds this disturbing? . . . What I mean is the fact that Bush has an obsession with exercise that borders on the creepy." Chait argued that Bush's passionate devotion to exercise was a dereliction of duty. "Does the leader of the free world need to attain that level of physical achievement?" he jeered. "It's nice for Bush that he can take an hour or two out of every day to run, bike or pump iron. Unfortunately, most of us have more demanding jobs than he does." Can you imagine any member of the Obamedia mocking the incoming gym-rat-in-chief this way? Chait was not alone. Reuters journalist Caron Bohan weaved the same unhinged themes into a piece on Bush's two-hour, 17-mile bike ride with cycling champ Lance Armstrong in Crawford, Texas, in 2005. After noting his six-days-a-week workout schedule, Bohan steered the piece into an anti-war screed: "Bush says exercise helps sharpen his thinking. But some of his critics view his exercise obsession as an indulgence that takes time away from other priorities. Among them is Cindy Sheehan, the Vacaville, Calif., mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, who until late last week was camped out down the road from Bush's ranch seeking a meeting with him to discuss her opposition to the war. Sheehan, who left her vigil on Thursday to tend to her sick mother, has said she believes Bush should take fewer bike rides to have more time to focus on the 'the nation's work.' " Fit Republican president = Selfish, indulgent, creepy fascist. Fit Democratic president = Disciplined, health-conscious Adonis role model. I went out with this guy named Ike for ten month. About 5 month into our relationship we started trying to have a baby. 4 months later i was pregnant and we were happy. When i was a month and a half along we ended up breaking up (February) and i moved back with my mom. He started dating this other girl about 2 weeks after we broke up. He has since broken up with her about 5 months ago. He told me the reason he dated her was because he needed to get his mind off of me because he was extremely heartbroken that i had broken it off. Normally we would start dating again in three days or so but that last time i guess it was final. He wouldnt take me back. Since May he told me he was going to get back with me but he wasnt ready. He wanted to have a house a vehicle so we could live together as a family once i had the baby (due august 30th). He finally stopped talking to his ex gf about 3 weeks ago and hasnt hung out with her since. At the beginning of October he had asked me out but he was still talking to Kayla (his ex) and i was worried there was something going on and broke it off two days later. Come to find out he told me the truth when he said she had only called him because he owed her money. At first after i had broken it off he said he wasnt going to get back with me because i would just break it off again but then about 2 weeks later he started with the whole im going rto get back with you thing but he wasnt ready still. i had the baby september tenth by the way and he would come visit her atleast every other day but most of the time every day. He told me that before he died mark his words he would marry me. He talks to me like a piece of **** sometimes though calling me stupid and saying im a woman and all women are stupid backstabbing lieing bitches. Whenever id try to talk to him about not wanting to wait he would get angry with me so i could never finish the conversation. I once told him either he is with me now or never and he picked never because he said true love always comes back and that when he was ready he knows i would take him back. He hasnt been dating any other women since he told me he wanted to be back with me but isnt ready but when a man likes you isnt that enough? I mean why would he need a house to be with me? he says because he wants to be able to do whatever he wants whenever for example if we wanted to have sex then we could right then unlike him visiting at my moms house we couldnt. Then on November 29th one of his friends Westin who he hasnt seen in 6 years came to the Ranch house where everyone was hanging out and all of a sudden he wasnt even noticing Claire (our baby) and i were there. He was mad because i asked why one of his ex gfs was at the bday party we were at earlier that day when she wasnt even hanging out around us and was off playing withher son at the park the whole time while we were all at the table at the park. 6 hours later he came up to me and was attempting to talk to me and sort things out but it just fumed into this huge arguement. The ranch house has no source of heat so is just as cold as outside and Claire was sick already and my ride home was full because they had gotten westin to stay there with his gf and lil brother and his parents had went into town (we were 20 miles out of town) and said to have someone bring them in. Ike's vehicle cant take more than one passenger and instead of calling someone to come get us he just left us stranded outside. after 3 hours of trying to get a ride into town i finally got my gay friend Jared to come get us. Well ike tryed calling the next day but i was mad and hung up on him before he could say anything and the day after that i tryed talking to him but he was just telling me what i did wrong that night out at the ranch so i hung up on him. He hasnt seen claire in 6 days now and the day before yesterday i texted him and he said that i should go **** my gay friend Jared and to leave him alone. Does a guy that really care for you put you down and just ignore you and your child for 6 days straight without caving in and being nice? i asked him when he was going to come see Claire today on his answering machine and he hasnt called back.
