Resolved Question: Failure to Maintain a Vehicle in a Reason Manner Ticket?
I had a wreck last year where I fell asleep at the wheel. I received a ticket for "Failure to Maintain a Vehicle in a Reasonable Manner." I just got a notice from my insurance company that I am being dropped because I have a "Reckless Driving" citation on my driving record. When I called the Highway Patrol office they told me the two meant the same thing and when they ran a check on my license it came back as "Reckless Driving."
Had I known I was pleading guilty to "Reckless Driving" I would have went to court and fought it. I wasn't driving crazy (as Reckless Driving implies). I fell asleep at the wheel.
I live in Oklahoma. I need some help on this people.
Any ideas on what I can do to get this resolved in the good for me?

Voting Question: How do we get them to pay what they owe?
To this date October 8, 2008 I have been fighting BC/BS of Oklahoma to pay for my son's COVERED speech therapy services since April 24, 2008. My son has been going to speech therapy since August of 2007 for a congenital speech disorder caused by autism. These services- according to the benefits package that came with our PPO and the benefits adviser from my husband's job are covered 100%.
No co-pay, no exclusions, no deductible are being kicked out of the system as "Not a covered service", for no reason at all.
In total I have spent over 900 minutes on the phone trying to straighten this mess out and not one person will give me an answer as to why these COVERED services are being denied. We have had alerts put on our account to inform the processors that this is a covered service, we have had supervisors manually process the claims. But for some reason they are still getting kicked out as not a covered service.
There are four dates of service, 4/9/08, 7/9/08, 7/20/08, 8/20/08 that my doctor's office has resubmitted 6 times now and they are still not being covered. These total 178.00. The visit from April is about to go into collections and BC/BS is leaving us absolutely no choice but to pay these claims or risk a ding on our credit. We have worked long and hard to have the credit ratings we both have and I don't want them destroyed because of this companies incompetence. I would pay these claims out of pocket, but I will not be reimbursed. I will get a 178.00 credit on our account at the doctor's office.
If anyone here has any advice that will help us get these claims resolved I would greatly appreciate it. Should I just pay these claims and eat the 178.00, or should I keep fighting this and refuse to pay?
Sorry I didn't say what the denials said, they all get denied because the insurance company claims that "Claim denied because this is not a covered service." Even though the services are covered. And the claims reps. have all said they are a covered service.

Resolved Question: If your probation is transferred to another state will that state still require the same?
Here is the deal...
My husband was arrested last Oct for DUI. He had just been released from going home from Iraq and was in Washington State. His contract was up in Nov and has not been able to re-enlist since, until this issue is completely resolved. He went to court a few times trying to convince the judge to drop it to a wreck-less driving and begged not to be charged with a felony b/c he didn't want it to hurt his Military career anymore. In the mean time we lived in Oklahoma. At the end of all of it, he was charged with a DUI, has to pay a $2000 fine, serve 60 days in jail, 45 days house arrest, take a alcohol assessment and victims panel!!!! (he had one DUI 5 years ago and this judge wasn't giving him a break this time!)
Since we have been living in Oklahoma the state of Oklahoma accepted is request to transfer here. Once he got back to Ok he had to check in with the new probation officer and give her all his information than asked her what to do...she told him to check back with her next week when she got the paper work form Washington and set him up an apt to come back in a few weeks. He then called the next week to see if she had heard anything or if he needed to do anything, such as report into jail and she said just come in for your apt in a couple weeks.
So my question is ........are they going to require him the same as what the judge ordered in Washington? I would believe so, but I didn't think Oklahoma would be so laid back about it either.
This is a lot of information and thank you for taking the time to read it, if you have any experience with this or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!

I would like to add....please don't take this the wrong way, my husband is 100% willing to take responsibility for his actions, it is not that is is trying to get out of it, but he can not re-enlist till ALL of it is complete! After 8 years with an excellent standing in the ARMY he will be able to get back in, it is just a matter of when!!! We are really frustrated b/c we have been trying to resolve this since last Oct and are just hoping he can get back in ASAP.

Voting Question: VIN# missing a digit?
I bought a vehicle in Arkansas from a private seller, got a Bill of Sale and registration and drove it to Oklahoma. I've just received the AR title signed by the owner with the lien released. However the VIN# on the title is missing one digit and it is clear that it was a typo, since instead of 3333 it shows 333. I ran a carfax and everything came clean on the correct VIN#, except for the lien which has been cleared on the title. The other digits are identical. I went to a tag agency and they could not even register it at this point! I have no tag on the car and I am not driving it until this is resolved. I am not for sure what the correct procedure on this is, so I thought I would write to this forum on search for any help on the subject. Right now this is really concerning me.

Resolved Question: Aviation Medical Exam - Special Issuance?
I'm going to an AME for the first time. If you had a condition that required a "special issuance", had all the appropriate documentation to present at the time of the examination, what time frame are we talking about to actually get the student pilot and 3rd class medical? The condition is sleep apnea, well controlled, documented electronic compliance with therapy at 100% for 3 years, letter from physician treating it, stating that all pre-treatment conditions (sleepiness, headaches) are resolved, and all paperwork in hand from polysomatographic studies. Is this something that the AME can do? Will they have to defer to the regional flight surgeon? or to Oklahoma City?

Resolved Question: GlenBrook Investment Group Scam?
GlenBrook Investment Group in Oklahoma City is a scam. They tell you that you qualify for a loan of 5000. provided you pay the funding cost equal to 4 monthly payment upfront by moneygram (harder to trace funds) then 24 hours later when you are expecting your loan to arrive they advise they need more money. They do no refund the original down payment like they tell you they will do and when you start calling them they change their phone number and take thier website down. Complaints to the BBB and Attorney General go un-resolved.

Resolved Question: Had a nervous breakdown a year ago. Got a DUI in Colorado and one in Idaho in less than a month.?
Both were misdemeaners. I have a new job now and I can't take time off to get this resolved, but don't want this to be hanging over my head forever. I live in Oklahoma and it's not feasible for me to go back to those states.I could use some help as to legal solutions that won't cost a fortune. Everyone makes mistakes and I want to set this right to get back on the right track.

Resolved Question: What to do about the privacy act and an old name change?
In 1987, I lived in California and changed my name through common usage. It was legal and all my records, transcripts, and the like reflect my new/current name. My social security number reflects the change and has since then.
However, since 911 and the privacy act, I have been having difficulties with opening bank accounts and verifying that I am me. Right now things are settled but I am moving Oklahoma very soon. Their list of required documents to even exchange my driver's license leaves me in a quandary because my birth certificate shows my former name and my driver's license shows my current name.
How do I resolve this? What do I need to do to be a "real" person without undoing 21 years of my history?
