Beliefs that individuals hold about knowledge and knowing, or what has been termed ''personal epistemology'', are related to learning and achievement in complex ways. Open Question: Please help If you work for your city or know/are a police or lawer... ?
I got a call on Sunday supposedly from the police and/or fire fire(the city) they were asking of a donation of $75 $50 $25 or the needy. I said cant cus of financial problems, lost of job etc. The next day(Monday) they called again I replied they had call yesterday etc. then the guy hung up on me while i was talking. The next day(Tuesday) they called again and I explained the situation again got angry and said you hung up on me yesterday so i did the same to him. Now they called again asking Mr. x or Mrs. x I said parents are working now. I asked who are you and he said i'll call in the afternoon again. This guy and the background noise sounded just like the guy that has been bothering. Are they try to cause trouble cus i hung up on them? What can a person do to resolve this? Try to reach the mayor? Open Question: help me with this friend issue of mine?
ok, so this may sound a bit weird and mean but hear me out. I met this one guy at work a couple years ago and we became friends really fast (maybe too fast, which could be the problem). Anyways, he has a good personality and is a cheerful guy, but he has the biggest lack in commitment. Happens often, but when i ask him for a favor that he says he will do, he will often forget it because he got distracted (by games; he's a gamer). Anyways, i confront him with this and he ends up not caring all that much (you can tell by how he side-tracks the convo). so thats one thing that annoys me a lot which is a big issue for me!!! the other thing is that he's a gamer. In order to have had something in common with the guy, aside from personalities matching, i had to pick up some of his games that way we'd have something to talk about. He's thinking about playing WoW again and i know that will only make hanging out and talking to him (even on Instant messenger) much harder! i dont want him to play it, but i dont know how much my voice reaches him (he's not the one to sit down and resolve issues from what i have seen). So i have come to the realization that maybe i dont deserve all this frustration for 1 person, even if he so happens to be a pretty damn good friend. i wanted peoples opinion on my problem because i cant seem to find the will to not talk to him or interact with the guy (we pretty much hung-out/ talked everyday since we met). Open Question: How to make long distant relationships work?
So basically my boyfriend and i have been together on and off for the past three years. His family treated me like i was one of there own. i loved the family. his mom was so nice to me. well i found out that my family and I where moving a state away. i was heart broken. but my boyfriend and I promised it would work. so the first couple weeks we fought alot but then we wanted to resolve things. well my boyfriend mom is the most nosy person ever she would listen on the phone read are messages. she would think she could help us and say we need a break so we did that for a couple days things got better. then she finally made my boyfriend mad and he freaked out on her for reading are messages and trying to be the counciler. So now she takes it out on me. Now she is trying to get my boyfriend to break by telling him is never going to work and we are basically over and look for other girls and that i am a bitch and worthless. so now when he tries to make her stop she grounds him. she think she knows everything and i don't know what to do because it is hurting me and my boyfriends relationship.....please HELP.... Open Question: 4 year old will not go on the potty by himself.?
My 4 year old is still struggling with potty training. A lot has happened in the last year and a half for him so I was trying to give him some space. I figured the problems with linked to control issues and that seems to be the case because he is now going on the potty well, there are no tantrums or crying because it is scary. My prob is he wont go on his own. He just doesn't seem to want to be bothered with it and when i have tried letting him go and feel how uncomfortable it is, he doesn't care. He will sit in it for more than an hour if i don't clean him up. Please I am at my wits end, he needs to be in preschool but i cant enroll him until i resolve this. (more...)

Open Question: Mothers of "birth mothers" - how did you find peace in your daughter giving your grandchild up for adoption?
I am 20 years old, single, and 21 weeks into my first pregnancy. I believe I have found hope in knowing that my baby will allow not just myself or the deserving couple I choose, but many more people an indescribable love and happiness. My family says they support what ever decision I make - whether to keep her or "give her up" for an open adoption, saying that no decision will be the wrong one - but I still see the underlying feeling of their being cheated of a great granddaughter, granddaughter, a niece, or a cousin. In my youth, as most can attest to, I have made my fair share of mistakes, disappointments, and hardships on primarily my parents. Is my only resolve to give them time? Am I supposed to be seeking forgiveness? I would really like another mothers take on what their thoughts and feelings were towards the "situation" and towards their daughter. (more...)
