Open Question: Non-Stop Headache(4 days)?
I have had a strange headache for the last few days. It a dull/constant pain on the left side behind the ear. When I turn my head to the left and back to center the pain increases and throbs from just above shoulder blade level up the left portion of my spine to the spot behind my ear. When I turn to the right it stops. I have tried Ibuprofen and Tylenol to no avail. I have had pinched nerves before and it doesn't feel like that. Any Ideas?

Resolved Question: Is this a weird placement for a tattoo?
I was thinking about getting a tattoo in the center of my back but on the right side. Like it wouldn't be on the spine but it would be in the middle, but on the right side. I thought it was a unique spot to put it, and I have never seen anyone with a tattoo there. Do you think it would look stupid there or out of place? Or would it look cool?
No, it's not on the shoulder blade, its actually in the middle of my back but on the right side

Voting Question: My story.. Not Done.. What do you think?
Be as critical as possible. Constuctive critiscism please. I was bored one day and had to let out everything XD. Sorry its really long. But 30 minutes tops to read. Tell me what i need to improve. I've been trying to make best fight scenes in words. So try to help me on that. Thank you in advance

The sparks of the blades flew wildly around the arena and the sounds of the two clashing weapons echoed the fields. The warrior wielding the spear ducked under the reckless swing of the sword from a warrior to the right. The warrior with the spear did an easy smooth sweep with his spear bringing the swordsman down to the ground. The spearman flawlessly pointed the tip of his spear at the tip of the foe?s throat. The swordsman dropped his sword signaling defeat, and honor. The crowd cheered wildly throwing in flowers, and praising the great warrior.
?Clinks The Mighty Spearman has defeated Brunts The Brute,? announced the ringmaster.
I watched Clinks with great admiration and jealousy. I wished I could join the same clan as he, The Centurions. You must be 18 years of age to join this certain clan and I will soon become 18. In a month?s worth of days. My name is Roy Maglonia, and my cottage is just north of the battle ring. And every year several Clans from different kingdoms come here to battle and see whose clan is the best. Clinks is from The Centurions, and the Vice Knight. He controls every other warrior in the clan besides The Head Knight. Clans never let anyone know who their Head Knight is, as it is disrespecting, and dishonoring their leader.
I walked off the benches and headed towards my cottage because the battle is over and The Centurions are the champions of this years battle. I live with my aunt and uncle, my mom and dad are always away doing ?business? outside our land, Peronox.
?That was an amazing battle!?; ?Centurions won again Aunt Claudia!? I yelled as I entered through our front door.
My aunt replied with an uninterested tone ?That?s good Roy, now go shower up and get ready for lunch.?
?Ughh, yes Aunt Claudia.?
A fresh aroma struck my overly sensitive nose, and I instantly recognized it. It was my aunt?s specialty? Tomato soup with a huge variety of other vegetables and slices of pineapple, added with chicken strips. The soup had a reddish glow due to the large quantities of tomato. The soup itself was beyond delicious it was ravishing.
I just finished my thirds as a shrieking sound pierced Peronox?s clean calm air. My aunt shocked, I ran outside to find a young lady about the age 20-25 with an arrow through her back, with blood gushing down here spine. I quickly ran to her for aid, but I could tell she has lost too much blood to live, or live functionally ever again. Last thing she said The? The? Mayai? ins. That name struck my head like a sword striking on a bell, and I realized the Mayaians are taking their revenge for losing to the Centurions. I thought to myself ? What sore losers!? I ran back to my aunt and asked where Uncle Rob was.
?He is in the fields gathering some corn,? she said sounding like she has lost all her breath.
?What is going on Roy, what was that sound!?
? You need to find Rob and run! I?ll meet you at Westclock Lake.?
She seemed to notice the urgency in my eyes so she stood up immediately and ran towards the fields. I ran out to warn everyone that the Mayaians Clan is taking their revenge and telling everyone to run! In the distance I could tell there is a raging fire going through the center of Peronox.
?Ahhhhhhhh, spare me, nooo spare my boy,? that was all I could hear the pleading of the villagers and the yells of death.
I ran towards the center and picked up a sword from a nearby wounded Mayaian warrior. The sword weighed me down greatly and the handle couldn?t be any rustier. The blade of the sword was dulled out and the tip was no longer sharp. I ran to the nearest Mayaian and struck him on the back with the sword sending him forward into the flames. Two other Mayaians noticed me and charged towards me with their sword slung on their back for a powerful forward swipe. Not knowing what to do I charged forward as well, with the dull tip of my sword ahead and my eyes half closed. The two swords swung at me at the same time, and the two swords stuck together and stopped right in front of me. I did a quick roll and swept the two warriors of their feet and ran the other direction. In front of me I could see a corrupted warrior with eyes of death. It was Brunts, the losing warrior from the annual battle.
I stepped back slightly stunned from the sight of this monster and I nearly tripped over an arrow. Brunts smirked and I could tell that he wasn?t going to spare me. His sword was a true warrior?s weapon sharp as can be and perfect height to slay a warrior. I stared in horror as he ran towards me with his sword. I stood up in ?my own? ready stance and when his sword struck m

Resolved Question: Pain managment- what works for you?
I already asked you all about Spinal Fusion, what my doctor is recommending, but I am going to wait as long as possible based on the answers I got. Since 1993 I have dealt with my back pain. I have done it all- Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Physical Therapy, Tens unit, Nerve Ablasion (for Facet Joint pain). I just had my annual MRI and my Spinal Surgeon(one of the best, Dr. James Reynolds of Seton Spine Center in Daly City CA) and he said he had bad news. It was worse than thought- now 4 bad disks, one bulging and impenjing on my nerve, osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, and spondlyosis.
About 3 years ago, I decided on my own to rid myself of the Class 1 & 2 opiates such as the Duragesic Patch and Oxycotin. Plus, a miriad of anti depressants and sleep aids. I figured out that Dr.s have an obligation to write out pain prescriptions if you are complaining about pain that is interfering with ones life and during a moment of clarity, realized I was inducing myself into a state of mental impairment along with my physical. So I spent a year detoxing myself off the meds and decided that I would do whatever I could to stay on only the Norco and Ibuprofen and a TENS unit at all costs. Even if it meant not leaving the house. I am trying to be proactive in my own pain managment.
So here is the question. How much Norco is considered reasonable and safe? I cannot walk even an hour and I am in pain 24/7. The Norco I am taking is 1 pill 6x per day. The Norco is 325 ml of Aceteminophen. Unfortunately, my medication tolerance is raised so after being on THIS prescription for 5 months, and Norco for about 18 months total. I need to do something. Is asking my doctor for 8 per day an okay thing? I know he will give it to me, but I want to know if any other person in the med field or someone who takes this much can tell me what they think. Also, I take 800 ml of Ibuprofen 3 times per day.
I see my doctor tomorrow but I don't want him to just give it to me without doing a bit of my own research. I hope you can appreciate my fear after being on so many opiates for so long and the very long year it took to get me off.
Sorry, Norco 10/325- didn't know there were different strengths? Are there?

Resolved Question: Is this a good startin for a story ?
My nightmare started like this. I was standing in a deserted forest facing a split pathway, both leading to opposite directions in a deserted forest. It was the middle of the night.
A storm was blowing. Wind and rain rippled the oak trees along the pathway. Snakes, lizards, and scorpions rattled along dead trees or nearby water streams. Owls and crows echoed throughout the forest.
A forest, I thought. I couldn?t see much at the time so I wasn?t sure how I knew. I fell to my knees, the winds current began to overpower. I knew at this rate I was good as finished. I could feel the breeze of winds shivering down my spine.
Then I heard voices, but the wind kept blowing. The voices began to fade away as the winds began to lift me. Then slowly and slowly I was reaching a higher ground. A dash of wind struck with a massive pulse to my arms. I had let go from the pathway dirt, luckily got a grip onto a branch from a nearby tree. I could hear cracks as the branch began to break off. Rain pelting my spine, I could feel the pain as my spine was breaking into two. Crack! The branch split in half as it flew into the air, as I followed it into the air.
I couldn?t breathe properly, as I looked up in agony, I saw flash of light striking toward me? Link.. Link? Link!
I sat bolt upright, shivering in my bed. There was no storm. No snakes, lizards, or scorpions. The morning sunlight filtered through my bed room windows. My head began spinning from all the confusion.
There was a knock on my bedroom door, my mom called: ?Link! You?re going to be late for school!? For some reason, the dream kept reappearing in my head. Warning me about something, but I couldn?t quiet grasp it out.
?Come on, dear? my mom called again. I quickly rushed out of bed and got a hold of something. For some reason I felt as if I was going to faint. I could barley begin to see, and then everything went blank.
I began to open my eyes, as my head still felt as if it was in agony. ?Oh Link! Your finally awake, do you have any idea how long I?ve been waiting,? my mother called out.
?Ahh where am I??
?Don?t worry darling, your safe here with Dr. James.?
?So, your name is Link is it not,? asked Dr. James. I could barely speak at the moment, but I managed to respond back.
?Y?yes,? I replied. It was as if my eyes began to fade away as my sight became slim. For some reason, the dream from last night kept reappearing, as it?s trying to warn me about something. Then it hit me, the voices I heard! I knew it had to do with something from the voices. I tried to remember, but my brain went blank.
?Link!? Link!? Link!? I think we lost him,? James cried out.
?I need everyone to step outside, this is a job for Dr. James.?
I kept trying to remember, but this doctor named James wouldn?t shut up. My mother had stepped out with all the other pat ions, it was just me and some Dr. named James. I looked up and saw him reaching out for his pair of glasses. Just his freckles gave me the creeps. I quickly looked away. Between two fragile windows a picture frame hanging off the red coated paint. I quickly took a glimpse at the wooden frame. At first I couldn?t identify the whole picture itself, but then it came to me. It was as if it was a picture of a forest, perhaps the one in my dream? But I couldn?t quiet grasp the little blurry brown smudge. My head was still in agony so I couldn?t blame it.
?Looks as if you?re fascinated by that picture,? He spoke.
?Huh? Oh well... wait that smudge in the center??
?Sniff- That was my son ?Sniff. You see when he was a young boy as your age, he began having dreams of some forest. Then one day as he left for school, he had never returned home. My family searched and searched, but nothing was found. Even the cops themselves couldn?t find much, but returned with a wooden frame, as the one you see in front of me. They conducted the fact that my son had been consumed in some forest, which had never even existed.?
?I?m sorry,? I calmly replied.
Tears dripped, as they splattered against the wooden floor tiles.

Voting Question: Do You Think This Could Get Published? Read It For Me? ?
First of all, this IS a romance novel. I just wrote this part of the story about five minutes ago.
I was pretty sure I was dreaming. Actually, I was ninety nine point nine percent sure I was dreaming.
I was at a wedding chapel--the same one my mother and father were married in. I was walking down the aisle in a flowing cream colored dress. There was also no one there in the entire room. I could see Sam standing at the end, all smiles as I got closer and closer.
"I've been waiting for you," he whispered softly taking my hand and gently kissing it. "You don't know how long I've been dreaming of this day."
I smiled and looked deep into his emerald green eyes, which were shining more than ever as the light from the floor to ceiling windows poured in. "I think I know."
He grinned and brought his hand up to my cheek, stroking it ever so gently. "I love you." he murmured not taking his eyes off of me.
I closed my eyes and tilted my head into the center of his warm palm. "I love you too," I managed to choke out.
But just as he leaned in to kiss me, I heard my name being called from a distance. It was very faint, and very slow. I ignored it.
"Vanessa." the voice sing songed again.
I felt something cold touch the side of my face.
"Sam." I muttered, smiling.
Sam lifted me up into his arms and pressed his rose petal soft lips against mine. "Wake up," he said softly.
I popped open my eyes in panic. Instead of the beautiful wedding chapel, I was lying in bed; staring at the ceiling.
Outside the sky was gray and milky. I assumed it was early, and the sun hadn't even rose yet.
It was only a dream. A beautiful, beautiful dream that I never wanted to awaken from. I looked around the room at the blood red ceiling, and down at the cream colored sheets that had been torn off of me.
I sighed lazily. "Only a dream."
Sam was next to me, of course. I could feel his fingertips softly trailing down my spine. He didn't speak; all he did was continue to move his fingers along the side of my body in a circular pattern.
"I'm sorry to have awoken you," he murmurmed touching his lips against the back of my neck. "But you were tossing and turning for hours. I thought you were having a nightmare."
I grumbled and rolled over. I was now staring into his piercing green eyes just like I had been in the dream. "You thought wrong." I groaned.
He chucked and now moved his hand slowly up my leg. "I was just trying to protect you."
I shook my head slowly and watched as his fingers trickled up my side. "The dream was about you."
"Oh?" he asked in a surprised tone. "And just what was I doing?"
I took his hand away from my leg and held it tightly in mine. "We were getting married," I said as I interlocked his fingers between mine. "In the same church my parents were married in."
Sam was silent. He brought my hand down to his lips and gently kissed the tips of my fingers. "Sounds like a good dream." he muttered.
I nodded, laying my head on his shoulder blade. "A dream I want to become reality."
He tightened his arms around my waist and pressed my head against his neck. "I promise you that your dream will come to life," he brushed his lips across my bare shoulder. "I'm going to make it real."
Don't be too harsh on me, please. I am only 14 years old =). Yeah, I'm pretty mature for my age and my ultimate dream is to become a New York Times #1 Bestseller. I would love for this book to become published and maybe one day, ONE DAY, it will become a movie. Please don't waste your time saying how I know nothing about sex, love making, blah blah. I watch many many soap operas, movies, shows, read books, and see this kind of stuff. To me, it's very romantic and passionate and that is how I want my character's to act. I believe that with a lot of work and dedication that I could get this book published. Sure, it's nowhere near done and the grammar could use a little work, but at least it is a start.
Also, a lot of people would tell me I would NEVER be a writer. So I really want to prove to them that yes I can do anything I set my mind to! :D You know what I mean?
By the way, don't even think about saying it is like Twilight. Yes, I read and love Twilight but I wrote this story all by myself. No one helped me! I came up with the plot, characters, dialogue, everything! I didn't use any of Stephenie Meyer or anyone else's work!
So basically my question is, do you all like it? Hate it? Think it could get published? Or rejected in a heartbeat?

Resolved Question: Breathing Trouble...?
I don't usually exhibit any of the "habits" of a woman my size (I'm fat, lol) ... I don't do the heavy breathing, I'm very flexible, I sprint pretty fast, and besides some chronic back pain (my spine is pretty screwed up) I don't really have any health problems...
BUT a little bit ago (like less than 3 hours ago) it started to twinge a bit when I breathe... right now it feels like someone is pushing a hand on my chest, about 4 inches to the left of center and sort of "middle" between my breast and my neck... Every time I breathe in it "presses" harder... and there's a sort of "jabbing" (not stabbing, but jabbing, like being poked with a finger) on my lower-mid back, to the left of center.
Omg, and I just hiccupped & it felt like I got punched in the chest and the back at the same time... (so not cool)
All that and my neck is sore...
Any ideas as to what I should do? (I don't like taking pain meds, so I only do when I have to) ... also, breathing deeper makes the pain worse...
OMFG, you're telling me I might be having a heart attack?
I'm so gonna kill my instructors. (I just took my final exam online)
*calming myself down*
deep breaths that are 'almost' to the point when it hurts...
I don't have any way to get to a doctor any time soon, because a: it's SNOW outside, b: I don't drive, c: according to my parents (I'm in college, living at home) ambulance rides aren't covered by my insurance, and d: my doctor is sort of the spawn of satan, so if I went to see her complaining of chest pains she'd accuse me of trying to get her to prescribe needless pain medications or something. (She won't give me anti-depressants, even though I've had clynical depression since I was 9... because she thinks everyone under 40 is a junkie)
*still taking deep breaths*
it still kinda hurts... (just as bad as when I posted, BUT no more hiccups, so that's good)
& I don't have Athsma. (I'm like 99.9% positive) But thanks.
Uh, Melt P, I think the breathing issue is more urgent than the weight loss issue... & I got fat from thyroid problems, not from over-eating, so when I take my thyroid meds the pounds fall off like melting snow. :p (BUT like I said, my doctor is evil, she won't give me any kind of pill, ESPECIALLY the kinds I need)
OOOH! When I lean my head back the chest pain stops!!! BUT it makes my back worse ('cause I'm in my computer chair & it sort of squishes my back, lol)
Thx gregg.
But yeah, my "usual" back problems are the pain and numbness around the one piece of my spine that's "pizza-shaped"... my doctor is kind of retarded & thought I had compresion fractures... she does this thing where she makes an assumption then tries to prove herself right and doesn't consider any other ideas until she's exhausted every other possiblity, then someone ELSE steps in and tells her what's really going on. *rolls eyes* But yeah, its a development thing, my grandma had it & 2 of my aunts have it... dad's genes are all crap! *grr*
Okay... Dinner was a "veggie wrap".. I guess you'd call it... ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, & lettuce in a tortilla... it was kinda gross (there was nothing else edible) and pretty tiny... BUT the cheese is probably why I keep hiccuping, so yeah, I hate cheese now, lol... ... okay, just got a bit dizzy there...
Um yeah, so I'm going to take some aleve & go to bed... SO me not posting any more right now does NOT mean I died, ok? :p
I'll check back & post some more tomorrow afternoon to let all of you know I made it... (if I don't post by 6pm, worry, lol, unless I just forgot, but I'll try not to forget.)
Okay guys, I slept for 9 hours and now its just sort of a "bruise shadow" kind of pain... like it is sore from hurting, but it doesn't hurt anymore. ... when I take a really deep breath my lungs protest, but otherwise I feel kinda fine (but still exhausted)
Thanks for all your help! :)

Resolved Question: I am having spinal pain, throbbing bone pain, and left quadrant abdominal pain..?
So 13 years ago I was in an accident that caused a crushed vertabrae, about in the thoracic region, i think vertabrae #5...and for the past couple months my back has hurt, above the center where my spine is. My mom says its cuz i slouch too much, but could it be related to the vertabrae docs said would heal on its own? and then there's frequent bone pain that started about the same time, sometimes i get throbbing pain in my knee cap, my forearm, my hands, my legs and it lasts for a couple minutes...then there's a stabbing pain that lasts for a few minutes to a few hours to the left of my belly button below my ribs...no discharge, just pain..sometimes i have heartburn too when the only time i used to have it was when i was preggo (and no im not)...also, a sharp pain under my right armpit to the right of my breast..my fiance says its probly a pinched nerve but i get it every few weeks and it lasts for a few minutes or hours. could these all be different issues? or related? i know i know, go see a doc, but just wanted opinions..

Resolved Question: Distinguishing back pain or kidney pain?
Ok, I was dead cert that i had a lower back injury(which does go away after I have neurofen) however theres a small doubt in the back of my mind that it may be my kidneys hurting, thought I didnt think so at first. Only because I am quite a frequent drinker at weekend, i don't drink silly but i do do it often. is there any way i could distinguish if its back pain or kidney pain? I Was sure it was spine/back pain in my own mind as ive had it a few weeks and it only really happens when i bend down or lift something a bit heavy, anti inflamatory makes it go away, do you think neurofen would make the pain go away if it was my kidneys causing the pain? it also goes away after i've rested it and had some sleep, and dosent happen randomly only when i bend/move in certain places. the occasional pain does feel dead center of my lower spine, but then again kidneys are actually closer to the lower spine than i thought which is why i got a bit questionable.
I also am trying not to combine the tablets with alcohol since i've heard it can be dangerous, I usually use the neurofen gel for my back at weekend if i'm going out. Any suggestions appreciated! Its just i'm not the best with blood tests so i'd like to get some opinions before i forced myself to maybe go the docs.
