Resolved Question: Do you think there will be many suitors for Phil Fulmer?
I would think a coach who went 150-50 and won a natl championship would be coveted by many other schools. I know a part of the equation will be if Phil wants to take time off over the hurt of how his 30 plus year relationship ended or if he wants to keep at it. I would think that there would be more higher profile, BCS conference schools in the south/midwest/southeast that would be lining up for his services based on his name value and his record even if he has fallen off a bit in the 2000s. ESPN mentioned him going to a school on the level of a TCU or Boise St (not those exact schools, though before ppl start arguing about that) trying to snap him up. I would think once the coaching carousel gets really going here in the next month or so that someone will have an opening that will have Fulmer as their number one guy. I could see someone like a Wake Forest going after him if Grobe takes one of the tens of jobs he's offered every year. I just think that there will be so many jobs open up in his expertise recruiting area/region (south, midwest, southeast) that he will have a good, not great job if he wants it by mid January. Stanford doesn't have an opening and Harbaugh just got locked up to another extension last wk (more...)

Resolved Question: Why not Utah for the BCS Title?
Obviously the BCS is skewed towards big money conferences, but are there any non-money reasons why Penn State should get more clout than Utah should both go undefeated? They share a common opponent, whom they've both defeated. Utah went on the road and beat a Big Ten team (not much of an accomplishment, but isn't that what Penn State's whole resume is, aside from Oregon State?) and their remaining schedule has two top 25 teams, while Penn State looks to finish out the year against three more Big Ten pushovers. Add to that the accomplishment of Utah, and, while we're at it, Boise State, of winning a high profile BCS Bowl in the last five years (has a Big Ten team done this?) and I'd say the Utes have a more logical case to contend for a title, if one throws out the aforementioned issue of the system's tilt towards the six favored conferences. If not Utah, couldn't a strong argument be made for a one-loss team from the Big 12, SEC or a one-loss USC team leapfrogging the winner of a joke of a conference? (more...)

Resolved Question: Is there such thing as a "Utah Mormon"?
apart from the fact that they live in Utah (i mentioned this for people who, i wish, came with a plug), do they have any discernible characteristics different to saints living elswhere, attitude- or culture-wise? i was inclined to ask this after reading one of the responses to this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjX9LTIh24_qQhtSZkhytODsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071130110951AARtOMp&show=7#profile-info-jhb2awN3aa i can also recall a missionary from boise that i met who is serving in a different area telling me something about one of the missionaries "he's a smart missionary and all, but he has that Utahn attitude." i have met dozens of Utahn missionaries, and i do not see any obvious difference with how they act, or maybe it's an american thing. as i said: discernible characteristics which are different, attitude- or culture-wise. the geographical side of it is common sense, indeed. Resolved Question: Jim Rome...another worthless analyst???
Jim Rome...haha what a joke he is, he is an idiot!! I hate this character his knowledge is horrible and his opinions are uneducated. I can understand ppl picking Oklahoma over Boise St., but not even giving Boise St. a chance against a Sooner team who really wasnt that good this year? Thats ridiculous. And he said that him and no one else believed they had a shot. I even heard Herbstreit say this. WELL Boise dominated Oklahoma for 3 quarters, slipped and let them back in and then pulled out 3 amazing plays when the game was on the line and pulled it out with one of the best football games ive ever seen. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ajsk4kp5foj88l.kHqng.Hjsy6IX?qid=20061220012837AAkh8Sd&show=7#profile-info-2b074db4d27104ab260af8b4da4c61baaa Theres me GUARANTEEING a Bronco victory over the Sooners...so Jim Rome and other "analysts", do you think they even pay attn to the games or just make uneducated guesses? I dont think they payed attn to Boise at all... (more...)
