Let Yourself Go Kristin Chenoweth won a Tony for the supporting role of Sally Brown in the 1999 revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, made a memorably vampy Lily in the 1999 television film of Annie, and had an NBC sitcom created for her, Kristin! Now she grabs the spotlight in Let Yourself Go, her first solo recording. She mixes torchy standards ("My Funny Valentine," "How Long Has This Been Going On?") with Faith Prince-style sauciness ("If"), gets to show off her operatic and scat chops in the miniplay "The Girl in 14G," and shares a light duet with Jason Alexander (reviving his musical theater career post-Seinfeld). Fact 1: Kobe was getting double teamed, and when you're doubled teamed, someone is open Fact 2: Shaq was open. Only Ben Wallace was guarding Shaq, and Shaq at the time was still commanding. Fact 3: The Lakers had Robert Horry, Devean George, Derek Fisher, Rick Fox, Karl Malone, Gary Payton. They are people you can trust with an open shot. Fact 4: Kobe did not pass unless he got like 4 seconds left on the shot clock. Fact 5: Phil Jackson, Karl Malone, and Derek Fisher all pleaded with Kobe to play the triangle offense. Kobe replied, "I'm going play my way." Fact 6: Kobe did the same time in the 2003 Conference Finals when they lost to the Spurs. Fact 7: After Derek Fisher made that three pointer from an inbound pass with 0.4 second left, Derek Fisher also got shut out by Kobe. Throughout the whole Finals series, Kobe never passed to Fisher, but then Kobe never passed to anyone... No wonder Derek left. Fact 8: Kobe said, "We are better off without (Shaq)." And he played like he believe it. Fact 9: If Kobe can't win being the "star" of that cast, Kobe is by far the worst superstar player of this generation. Put D-Wade on that team, what do you get?
