Yoga Journal's Prenatal Yoga
The best thing about this prenatal yoga program is that there is a model for each trimester. Instructor Shiva Rea demonstrates each of the stretches and exercises for the first trimester, and two pregnant women show modifications for the second and third trimesters (they're even dressed in different colors for easy reference). This removes the self-doubt home-exercisers often have about the safety of certain moves--especially in that cumbersome final stage of pregnancy. Using gentle voice-over instruction, Rea and her assistants take viewers through a half hour of meditational stretches using blocks and chairs for support. She follows that up with 16 minutes of floor work: lunge pose, bridge pose, child's pose, plank pose--all with the necessary adjustments. She winds things up with a four-minute guided relaxation on her back--the traditional position--with the second-trimester woman on her side and the third on her side with one leg up on a chair. By including the different adaptations, Rea has made a program with the flexibility to carry an expectant mom through her entire pregnancy--and beyond, if she wishes. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Yoga Journal's Yoga for Flexibility (Beginner's Practice)
Yoga Journal's more advanced offering of yoga stretching exercises presents two routines for flexibility: back stretches and front stretches. Each routine begins with a short warm up, though if one is not already well practiced in yoga stretching techniques, not to mention already flexible, some of these stretches should not be attempted. Even the so-called "moderate" poses for those with less strength and flexibility are difficult to achieve. Patricia Walden encourages the viewer to practice often and work toward the stretching goals, and conscientiously demonstrates the stretches in a methodical manner. The principles of balance and strength in all parts of the body (achieved by practicing both front and back stretches) is a lofty goal for many, but one to work toward in small increments. The two distinct routines in this video are conveniently presented separately so that they can be combined or practiced alternately. (If you're not already on your way to yogic flexibility, in the beginning you may be sitting out a good part of this video.) The production value, like the other Yoga Journal offerings, is consistently good and even. Certain stretches require props such as yoga blocks, but chairs and phone books are a good substitute for the home user. --Gilia Angell

Yoga Journal's Yoga for Meditation
"Meditation is a time-honored practice that reduces stress and revitalizes the body, mind, and spirit," explains Rodney Yee, instructor for Yoga Journal's Yoga Practice for Meditation. "Meditation is awareness of posture, ease of breath, and attentiveness of the mind." In this beautiful video, Yee quietly and expertly leads you through five yoga practices that release bodily tension, improve posture, and open up breathing. The setting is grand and gorgeous Yosemite National Park, where Yee demonstrates poses in a meadow flanked by trees and cliffs, or at the edge of a lake or waterfall. The rewards of meditation are "living more calmly, more fully, with strength and grace," promises Yee. The practice is divided into five segments: Mountain, a series that moves from pose to pose, used for making the transition from daily activities to a sitting meditation (12 minutes); Garden, gentle movements done in a chair that open the hips and stretch the back (10 minutes); Tree, four sitting poses, using props to modify the poses to your personal flexibility level (10 minutes); Wind, with the focus on the movement of breath, releasing tension, and relaxing deeply (10 minutes); Sky, a meditation focusing on posture and breath, and "inviting the mind into the present moment, time and time again" (8 minutes). --Joan Price

Open Question: What happens in this amazing book?
Freak The Mighty by Rodman Philbrick... I have to pretend to be Freak and right 3 journal entries about adventures he had with Max. How lame. They have to be before he died, of course. I can only think of 2.
1. The encoutner with Loretta & Iggy.
2. The incident with Blade on the 4th of July.
I can't think of a 3rd event. I really don't know why... And I have to present this infront of the class so no akward events... I don't want to read things with emotional feelings outloud.
So, thanks ((:

Open Question: Dick Cheney says no one saw the financial crisis coming. Do you believe him?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090109/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cheney_interview
I don't because I DID see it coming. In fact, it wasn't very hard to figure out either - anyone who had a subscription to the Wall Street Journal since 2007 and actually read the paper probably saw it coming. I know I already saw major articles coming out about it back then, and even as far back as 2004, investment professionals were talking to me about the dangers of the newly popular "interest only" subprime mortgages if home values were to ever drop.
Dick Cheney may have been trying to absolve Bush of any wrongdoing by saying this, but I think he just make out his President to look like a total dumbass. Again.

Open Question: What are your thoughts on this?
I just wrote this in like 2 mins in my journal one day...
Haha it might make like no sense to you but whatever
I thought it was a sorta cool concept.
The stars in the sky are twinkling like those in Hollywood
However those are fake ? manufactered, processed.
Or are the stars in the sky fake and those in Hollywood real?
What is real in this world?
What is the difference between that of perception and reality?
Do we not perceive reality?
If we do not perceive reality, we must be living in an imaginative world.
However to us, this imaginative world would be our real world.
Our perception is reality.
The world around us can be whatever we want it to be.
All it takes is a little imagination.
When we see things, perhaps how we want to see things,
We may actually see them.
Living in a dream is not something to be criticized.
Would it not be wonderful to live in a dream?
I think it would be absolutely wonderful.
Therefore I choose to live how I do, only immersing in ?reality? occasionaly.
Because reality is what others perceive of the world,
And how others think it should be.
Each person needs to choose their own reality.
I want my life to be perfect.
Imagine your life being perfect.
This brings us back to the distinction between perception and reality.
They are one of the same thing.
Don?t live to other?s standards of reality.
Live in your own world, and make it however you want.
Imagine it?s the most fabulous thing in the world, even if its not.
What use is this?
It takes you away from the grounded image of life.
Your life is fabulous. You need to see the fabulousness of it.
Rathar than dwelling on the cold ?reality? of it,
Which is really just a nice word to say criticism.
Criticism of dreams, of hopes, of true happiness.
Am I not realistic?
No, and I?m glad. Realisticness is simply an excuse.
An excuse to why people?s wonderful dreams didn?t come true.
Because they weren?t realistic.
Change the world. Its possible.
Live to your standards of reality.
The world is right in front of you?
And you have the power to make it whatever you want.
Live it, love it.

Open Question: so i have to do this paper an base it on two schools of thought (e.g psychoanalysis , trait theory, humanistic?
approach ect...
So im doing it on the psychoanalytic approach and trait theory to best describe my personality. So do these two schools of thought good to describe my personalty. Or should i choose something else such as behaviroal appraoch or cognitive ecct..... the paper much consists of test scores personal history an expalantory diary
Now for the diary how should i word it out is it just a daily journal of what goes on in my life or should it go into the depths of psychological matter...
this is what i got so far please give me feedback and what grade would i receive based on what i have so far the minimum pages is 8or more. There is no need to cite only the text since that's where most of the information comes from . 10POINTS FOR THE BEST ANSWER THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY
There are many types of personality approaches that help people understand themselves better. Some personality approaches such as psychoanalytic approach go in depth about people?s unconscious mind and how it affects their daily lifestyles while other approaches such as the trait approach explains . Each school of thought has different reasons for why individuals behave different. The two schools of thought that best describe my personality are the psychoanalytic approach and the trait approach based on their theories, and primary data such as test scores, explanatory diary, and personal history can help support those theories for identifying my personality.
The psychoanalytic approach discusses about how an individual?s unconscious mind affects our daily lives. Freud?s theory of personality helps explain my personality through the topographic model, which Freud divides the personality into three parts the conscious, preconscious, and unconscious mind. I at times do not bring my unconscious thought to mind and most of my thoughts are in my unconscious mind. Freud?s structural model which consist of the id, ego, and superego which place a part with the three levels of awareness the unconscious, preconscious, and conscious mind. I believe that my unconscious mind holds most of my thoughts and. People use a psychoanalytical approach in their daily lives when they interact with other people. For example you are walking down the street and you see a man in a business suit, a clean-shaven face, a combed back hairdo, shiny leather shoes, and a briefcase. You would think he is an uptight; precocious; strong willed; anal retentive; kind; sad; happy; confident businessman. These things may or may not be true about this said man but we psychoanalyze them into our mind and think of what they could be without knowing the person.
Someone who uses psyhoanalization on others can seem judgmental, harsh, rude, or in some cases, very good at reading people. You won't always be right when you psychoanalyze people. But there may be times when you are.
All three of these egos often use defense mechanisms, which are repression, sublimation, displacement reaction formation, denial, intellectualization, and projection. Another theory Freud proposed was the Psychosexual Stage of Development Freud describes 5 stages of development in the early human life. The five stages are oral stage, the anal stage, the phallic stage, the latent stage and the genital stage. All these stages are influential in the development of the individual's character and depending on what sort of behavior the child is exposed to during these stages influences the outcome of personality. The anal stage itself deals with the tension the organism experiences in trying to fid his/her freedom. The child tries to gain independence through acquiring the ability to 'relieve' itself freely and in an independent way, without having to rely on the parents to 'clean-up'( ). Generally speaking, this stage is very important in the organism forming a healthy idea of independence and freedom, whereas the previous oral stage involves more dependence for feelings of 'pleasure' (being fed). A problem experienced at this stage will lead to dependence-independence issues for the individual later in life and perhaps a fixation on this unresolved stage of life. This is Freudian theory and can only be explained using his thinking. Pay no attention to the rubbish written above about OCD, controlling retentive behavior. Those theories do not belong in the classical domain of psychoanalysis. In this stage of development Freud argues that the adult personality is formed by the experiences form the first 5 or 6 years of life (Burger, p. ). Freud used self-assessment such as the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) that was designed by Henry Murray. The test asks people to make short stories about ambiguous pictures presented to them. Their answers are interpreted and are believed to reveal things about their personality. The TAT is considered more reliable than another projective test, the Rorshach Inkblot Test (Burger, p.). Open Question: HELP!! preparing a bank reconciliation and the adjusting entries!!!!!?
Question: Insomnia Cafe is a nightclub in Halidax. The information necessary for preparing a bank reconciliation for the company at November 30 appears below:
1. As of November 30, cash per the bank statement is $36,941, per the accounting records, $49,920.
2. Cash receipts of $6,532 on November 30 were not deposited until December 1.
3. Among the paid checks returned by the bank was a stolen check for $1,512 paid in error after Insomnia Cafe had officially notified the bank not to make payment. Thus, payment of this check was a bank error and should not have been charged against Insomnia Cafe's bank account.

b) A debit memo attached to a $1,375 check that Insomnia had accepted from customer Brooke Forrester and deposited in its account, which had been returned with the marking "NSF"
c) A credit memo for interest earned on the account during November, $350
