Don't get me wrong everyone has the right to decide if they want to have children. My issue is that my husband and I are in our 30's and have no children. Our families keep pressuring us to have children. We have discussed it and have even considered adoption, which was not well received by our families. I believe that any parent has the responsibility to provide a loving and supportive home to their children, and to raise their children to be a productive part of society. I believe in nurture over nature and think that you can love and raise any child whether they are biologically yours or not. With the hundreds of children worldwide growing up in deplorable conditions, with no choices or chances for a future what is the problem with international adoption. All other reasons for having biological children I find are very selfish and unrealistic. Children do not always love you forever and you can not guarantee that all your "good" traits will be passed to your children based on biology. So really is there any reason to have children at all, especially your own biologically. Especially if you have the means to provide a child that would not have these same opportunities a wonderful life? I don't mean to say that all people who decide to have children (biologically theirs) are selfish it just seems that all the reasons given to me are shallow. Such as they are your blood and carry on the family name. Or that they will have all the family characteristics. Or they will love you forever because you are their only parents. I don't want to sound negative about having children either. I just think that it is a very big responsibility and deserves alot of consideration. The above reasons are the main ones given by our families. I think children are wonderful and a fulfilling part of a family. But I also believe that if you chose to adopt or not have children then that is your choice as well. I just wanted to know if anyone had a unique position or idea on having children (more...)

But I've read that this can be a headache collecting rent & having to deal with the renters while in another state, but I've also heard that its not that big of a deal. I am writing a petition to my university's faculty, and I'd really like your comments/feedback/advice after reading it. All comments/advice/feedback are extremely appreciated!!! Thanks so much in advance! I respectfully request that the Faculty reconsider the decision of requiring me to withdraw from the program in which I am enrolled. The Faculty should heavily consider the position in which I am now placed after requiring me to withdraw from my program. Although I have undoubtedly not earned credit for two units throughout my first term at UW, I am deeply confident, and I guarantee, that I possess the perseverance, determination, motivation and competence to earn the credit for, and meet all academic requirements of, these two unearned units by the end of this current term. I attribute my previous term?s poor academic performance to the off-campus location at which I was living and the greatly dire circumstances it created. From the beginning of the term, I was required to take public transportation for an hour-and-half every time I was expected to be in class, while the vast majority of nearly all first-year students had the advantage of either living on residence, in a nearby off-campus location or at home surrounded with family support. I was not only far away from the support of my own home and family, but I was also far away from the university for which I left home. As a result of this great inconvenience, it was extremely difficult for me to not only have the time and means to study comfortably and efficiently, but it was also nearly impossible to stay focused on my academic interests, priorities and opportunities. I recall that I was always unable to attend extra help sessions anywhere on campus due to how far away I was from the university. This term, however, only if the opportunity is allowed, I now have the chance to redeem the unfortunate outcomes of my first-term experience. I am now living on residence and being close to all buildings around campus will undeniably greatly help in my success this term. My time will be managed much more efficiently as I will not waste copious amounts of time on public transportation every day. I will easily be able to attend all classes on time by living on residence. Now that I am living on campus, I certainly have the motivation to attend extra help sessions anywhere and anytime around campus. I will be much more capable of staying on top of all readings, homework and assignments throughout the term, and will consequently not only be much more familiar with test and exam material, but will have even more time for studying the material and reviewing it a second time. I am now also more familiar with general university life and the experience it offers, and will be much more likely to succeed in my academics now that it is my second term and living on campus. With my deep motivation, determination, competence and perseverance, along with living right on campus, I can safely say that I guarantee having eliminated the causes of last term?s academic performance and I am now able and willing to earn the required credits and academic requirements needed to pursue my degree and earn it. Despite the deeply inconvenient circumstances hindering my success throughout my first term, I am nonetheless able to understand, and have great respect for, the regulations attributed to academic standing implemented by the Faculty. However, I do passionately and deeply believe that there are extenuating circumstances which the Faculty should now consider when re-evaluating its initial decision. I respectfully ask that the Faculty also consider my plan for improvement this term when re-evaluating its initial decision and ultimately give me the permission and opportunity to remain at UW this term and for terms to come to be able to pursue the degree I have chosen to pursue. I decided to never go out with men... It happened after a cute good looking man with big ego... he told me I am an idiot for not working hard for him, he wanted me to get a nice hairstyle, wear nice clothes, and learn how to cook and all. But I don't want to work hard for him, I wanted to work hard on education and all.... So when men asked me out, I would say no. And they keep harassing me over and over again... I just stood still... and watching men throwing themselves at me... They blocked every opportunity and don't want me to go to film school and learn things.... They don't want me to have friends. They don't want me to work... They followed me everywhere... Even watching me on the internet. So I stayed at home, lock the door.... I haven't been out the house in 6 days... Trying to stay away from men. I can't believe that they are so aggressive this way. And when the garbage needs to be taken out... I just go out the Apartment hallway and saw a MAN (oh no) and quickly put my garbage in the chute and rush back to my apartment room... The MAN was holding up a thick wallet to my face... I don't know if he thinks I am a garden tool or think I'm money grubber.. I just went back to my apartment and close the door and locked it. Unbelievable... So women, have you ever try to avoid men? Coming from a very easy high school, I do admit that I entered university being quite unfamiliar to the work load associated with my program. However, despite my unfamiliarity I was nonetheless, and I undeniably do remain, competent enough to not only complete my two unearned units, but to complete the rest of the degree I have chosen to pursue. I also attribute my previous term?s academic performance to the off-campus location at which I was living. I was required to take public transportation for an hour-and-half every time I was expected to be in class, while the vast majority of nearly all first-year students were either living on residence, in a nearby off-campus location or at home with family support. I was, not only far away from my own home, but I was also far away from the university for which I left home. As a result of this great inconvenience, it was extremely difficult for me to not only have the time and means to study efficiently and comfortably, but it was also nearly impossible to stay focused on my academic interests, priorities and opportunities. I recall that I was always unable to attend extra help sessions anywhere on-campus due to how far away I was from the university. Despite my circumstances, I am nonetheless able to understand, and have great respect for, the regulations attributed to academic standing implemented by the Faculty. However, I do passionately believe that the Faculty has failed to consider its decision on my attitude and character as a student, alongside my academic performance and the reasons behind it. As a result, I do ask the Faculty to reconsider its decision and essentially give me the permission to remain at UW this term and be able to pursue the rest of the degree I have chosen to pursue. Ok.
