Pearson 200

Tender Feelin's (200 Gram Mono)
Another one of Blue Note's multi-talents who, besides recording a cadre of well-received albums, went on to produce titles for the label. On this, his second album for Blue Note, Atlanta native Pearson goes the trio route, giving the selections a relaxed but also highly lyrical keyboard approach. Gene Taylor's bass and Lex Humphries' drumming perfectly complete and balance the triad, with strong arrangements of On Green Dolphin Street, When Sunny Gets Blue and I'm A Fool To Want You.

Resolved Question: Where is Jimmie ranked now?
I haven't seen a page where he is ranked on the all-time greats list yet,but what is your opinion? Here is my calculations: 1.Richard Petty(7 championships,200 wins) 2.Dale Earnhardt(7 championships,76 wins) 3.Jeff Gordon(4 championships,81 wins) 4.Cale Yarborough(3 in a row,83 wins) 5.Jimmie Johnson(3 in a row,40 wins) 6.David Pearson(3 championships,105 wins) 7.Darrell Waltrip(3 championships,84 wins) 8.Lee Petty(3 championships,54 wins) 9.Buck Baker(2 in a row,46 wins) 10.Joe Weatherly(2 in a row,25 wins) 11.Ned Jarrett(2 championships,50 wins) 12.Herb Thomas(2 championships,48 wins) 13.Tim Flock(2 championships,40 wins) 14.Tony Stewart(2 championships,33 wins) 15.Joe Weatherly(2 championships,25 wins) 16.Terry Labonte(2 championships,22 wins) 17.Bobby Allison(1 championship,84 wins) 18.Rusty Wallace(1 championship,55 wins) 19.Bill Elliott(1 championship,44 wins) 20.Bobby Isaac(1 championship,37 wins) 21.Dale Jarrett(1 championship,32 wins) 22.Rex White(1 championship,28 wins) 23.Bobby Labonte(1 championship,21 wins) 24.Benny Parsons(1 championship,21 wins) 25.Kurt Busch(1 championship,18 wins) 26.Matt Kenseth(1 championship,16 wins) 27.Alan Kulwicki(1 championship,5 wins) 28.Red Byron(1 championship,2 wins) 29.Bill Rexford(1 championship,1 win) 30.Junior Johnson(50 wins) 31.Mark Martin(35 wins) 32.Fireball Roberts(33 wins) 33.Fred Lorenzen(26 wins) 34.Jim Paschal(25 wins) 35.Ricky Rudd(23 wins) 36.Jack Smith(21 wins) 37.Jeff Burton(21 wins) 38.Speedy Thompson(20 wins) 39.Davey Allison(19 wins) 40.Buddy Baker(19 wins) 41.Fonty Flock(19 wins) 42.Geoffrey Bodine(18 wins) 43.Neil Bonnett(18 wins) 44.Dale Earnhardt,Jr.(18 wins) 45.Harry Gant(18 wins) 46.Marvin Panch(17 wins) 47.Curtis Turner(17 wins) 48.Carl Edwards(16 wins) 49.Ernie Irvan(15 wins) 50.Greg Biffle(14 wins) Here are some notable active drivers' ranking: 53.Ryan Newman(13 wins) 56.Kyle Busch(12 wins) 57.Kevin Harvick(11 wins) 61.Kasey Kahne(9 wins) 64.Kyle Petty(8 wins) 82.Denny Hamlin(4 wins) 97.Elliott Sadler(3 wins) 101.Clint Bowyer(2 wins) 112.Jamie McMurray(2 wins) Here are some of my justifications: -Petty & Earnhardt are tied for championships,Petty has more wins. Cale Yarborough and Jimie Johnson are tied for 3 in a row championships(which are better than 3 championships),but Cale is in fron of him because of more wins.The rest of the rankings follow that suit. -If you see 2 drivers that have the same amount of wins and one is further down than the other,it is because of winning percentage. Have fun finding your drivers on mine and other people's rankings and compiling your own.You don't have to do the top 50 lol. To me,winning 3 in a row is more impressive than high numbers of wins in an eran where they raced multiple times a week.That is why he is in front of a lot of other guys.As far as Pearson goes,he was definitely impressive but it is not the statistics' fault that he only raced 3 full-time seasons.I am not saying who has greater driving ability than others,but what the numbers show.He is definitely in the top 5. Resolved Question: David Pearson with the best winning percentage in Nascar. Would you put him on top as the best or...?
I think winning percentage is a real defenition of a true number one driver. The Silver Fox has the best percentage in the catagory of atleast 240 races ran. He has a better win avarge than the King Petty, but Pearson was a part timer. No one will be able to compete as much as Petty, due to the fact that they don't run that many races anymore. Pearson was also champ in 66,68, and 69 the only years he ran full time. The King was there. Pearson to me is the best of all time. Pearson started 574 races. Thats 9th alltime starts. He won 105 thats #2 all time wins. Richard Petty #1 all time starts with 1184 and #1 in wins with 200. They are really close in percentage. Both were great. Who do you put on top? (more...)

I'm trying to start hunting with a bow. But I didn't want to pick up a new $200 bow if i was just starting. So I picked up an old "obsolete" Pearson bow for $35 bucks. It needs a new string, but thats about it. Then I heard that another guy was selling a brand new bow for about $50 bucks. I think it was called a Buckmaster. I'm thinking about selling the bow I just bought and buying the $50 bow. (more...)

Animal Info - Indus River Dolphin (Other Names: Bhulan, Blind River Dolphin, Delfín del Indo, Indus Dolphin, Indus Susu, Plataniste de l'Indus, Side Swimming Dolphin, Susu) Platanista gangetica minor (P. indi, P. minor) Status: Endangered -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contents 1. Profile (Picture) 2. Tidbits 3. Status and Trends (IUCN Status, Countries Where Currently Found, Taxonomy, Population Estimates, History of Distribution, Threats and Reasons for Decline) 4. Data on Biology and Ecology (Size and Weight, Habitat, Age to Maturity, Gestation Period, Birth Season, Birth Rate, Early Development, Maximum Age, Diet, Behavior, Social Organization, Age and Gender Distribution, Density) 5. References -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile Pictures: Indus River Dolphin #1 (3 Kb JPEG) (Cetacea); Indus River Dolphin #2 (31 Kb JPEG) (Swiss Cet. Soc.) The Indus River Dolphin has a long beak and a stocky body. It has a low triangular hump on its back in place of a 'true' dorsal fin. It is gray-brown in color, sometimes with a pinkish belly. The eyes are extremely small, resembling pinhole openings slightly above the mouth. The Indus River dolphin measures between 1.5 - 2.5 m (5 - 8') in length and weighs 80 - 90 kg (180 - 200 lb). The Indus River dolphin generally occurs in the deepest river channel and is less common in secondary channels and small braids. Reported habitat preferences include channel constrictions, confluences, and deep, low-velocity water. The Indus River dolphin feeds mostly on several species of fish and invertebrates. It does much of its feeding at or near the bottom, using echolocation, swimming on one side, and probing the river bottom with its snout and its flipper. Although it is not usually considered to be gregarious, relatively high densities are found at sites where rivers join, in areas where the current is relatively weak, off the mouths of irrigation canals, and near villages and ferry routes. The Indus River dolphin is endemic to the rivers of the lower Indus River basin in Pakistan. Historically, it ranged from the Indus delta upstream to the Himalayan foothills where rocky barriers or shallow water prevented further upstream movement. Currently the distribution of the Indus River dolphin is severely fragmented and dramatically reduced in extent. The linear extent of its occurrence has declined from approximately 3,400 km (2100 mi) of Indus River mainstem and its tributaries in the 1870's to approximately 1,000 km (600 mi) of the mainstem at present. Currently the Indus River dolphin is limited to three subpopulations in the Indus mainstem located between the Chashma and Taunsa, Taunsa and Guddu, and Guddu and Sukkur Barrages. (IUCN 2006) The main reason for the decline of the Indus River dolphin was the construction of numerous dams and barrages, starting in the 1930's, that have fragmented the population and reduced the amount of available habitat. Another severe threat to the survival of the Indus River Dolphin is probably the increasing withdrawal of water. Dolphins no longer occur in the lower reaches of the Indus because upstream water extraction leaves downstream channels virtually dry for several months each year. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tidbits *** The Indus River dolphin is one of the world's rarest mammals. *** Although its eye lacks a lens, and it is sometimes referred to as being blind, the Indus River dolphin's eye does seem to function as a direction-finding device by using the direction and intensity of light. *** In Pakistan, conservation is a provincial responsibility. The government of Sind has given the Indus River dolphin full legal protection and established the Indus River Dolphin Reserve. The legal protection was widely publicized in an intensive campaign at all levels of government and society, and seems to be observed. The dolphin population in the Reserve appears to be increasing. (Klinowska 1991) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status and Trends IUCN Status: 1970's - 1994: Endangered 1996 - 2002: Endangered (Criteria: A1acd, B1+2abcde) (IUCN 2002) 2004 - 2006: Endangered (Criteria: A2abcde; B1ab(i,ii,iii,iv); C1) (Population Trend: Decreasing) (IUCN 2006) Countries Where the Indus River Dolphin Is Currently Found: 2006: Occurs in the Indus River system in Pakistan (IUCN 2006). Taxonomy: The Indus and Ganges River dolphin populations, previously treated as separate species, have recently been reduced to subspecies of a single species. The new species is named the "Ganges River dolphin" (Platanista gangetica), with two subspecies - the Ganges River dolphin (Platanista gangetica gangetica) and the Indus River dolphin (P. g. minor). Under this new assignment of scientific names, the newly named species as well as the two subspecies retain the listing of "Endangered" by the IUCN. (IUCN 2003a, Reeves 2004) Population Estimates: [Note: Figures given are for wild populations only.] WORLD (Pakistan) 1974: 450 - 600 (Nowak & Paradiso 1983) Late 1970's: 400 (Burton & Pearson 1987) 1984: 600 (Macdonald 1984) 1986: 400 - 600 (Bonner 1989) 1989: 500 (Klinowska 1991) 1998: 600 - 700 (IWC 2000) 2001: 843 - 1171 (IUCN 2006) History of Distribution: The Indus River dolphin is endemic to the rivers of the lower Indus River basin in Pakistan. Historically it occurred in the Indus River mainstem and the Sutlej, Beas, Ravi, Chenab, and Jhelum tributaries. It ranged from the Indus delta upstream to the Himalayan foothills where rocky barriers or shallow water prevented further upstream movement. An estimated 99% of the Indus River dolphin population occurs in only 690 linear km (430 mi). Currently the Indus River dolphin is limited to three subpopulations in the Indus mainstem located between the Chashma and Taunsa, Taunsa and Guddu, and Guddu and Sukkur Barrages. (IUCN 2006) Distribution Map #1S (22 Kb JPEG) (WCMC/CMS) (smaller map) Distribution Map #1L (67 Kb JPEG) (WCMC/CMS) (larger map) Distribution Map 2 (135 KB PDF) (IUCN 2006) Threats and Reasons for Decline: The main reason for the decline of the Indus River dolphin was the construction of numerous dams and barrages, starting in the 1930's, that have fragmented the population and reduced the amount of available habitat. Another severe threat to the survival of the Indus River Dolphin is probably the increasing withdrawal of water. Dolphins no longer occur in the lower reaches of the Indus because upstream water extraction leaves downstream channels virtually dry for several months each year. Accidental capture in fishing nets; pollution; and hunting for meat, oil and traditional medicine have also had an impact. (IUCN 2006) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Data on Biology and Ecology Size and Weight: The Indus River dolphin measures between 1.5 - 2.5 m (5 - 8') in length and weighs 80 - 90 kg (180 - 200 lb). Habitat: The Indus River dolphin generally occurs in the deepest river channel and is less common in secondary channels and small braids. Reported habitat preferences include channel constrictions, confluences, and deep, low-velocity water. As water levels drop in the winter, dolphins are concentrated in the remaining deep areas, including the head ponds upstream of barrages. (IUCN 2006) The Indus River dolphin occurs in the Indus River Delta & Rann of Kutch Global 200 Ecoregion. (Olson & Dinerstein 1998, Olson & Dinerstein 1999) Age to Maturity: Likely 6 - 10 years (IUCN 2006). Gestation Period: 10 - 11 months. Birth Season: Calving apparently can occur at any time of the year, but there may be peaks in December - January and March - May. (Culik 2003c) Birth Rate: The calving interval is 2 years. Early Development: Calves may be weaned by the time they are 1 year old. Maximum Age: May be close to 30 (IUCN 2006). Diet: The Indus River dolphin feeds on several species of fish (e.g. gobies, catfish and carp), invertebrates (e.g. prawns), and possibly turtles and birds. It does much of its feeding at or near the bottom, using echolocation, swimming on one side, and probing the river bottom with its snout and its flipper. (Culik 2003c) Behavior: The Indus River dolphin comes to the surface to breathe about every 30 - 120 seconds. When the Indus was a free-flowing river, the Indus River dolphin would migrate upstream into the smaller tributaries during the monsoon rains and migrate downstream to the main channels in the dry season. Social Organization: Although it is not usually considered to be gregarious, relatively high densities of the Indus River dolphin are found at sites where rivers join, in areas where the current is relatively weak, off the mouths of irrigation canals, and near villages and ferry routes. In the Indus, about 40-45% of the dolphin population is found at junctions of tributaries with the mainstream, at least during the dry season, presumably being attracted to these areas by concentrations of prey. (Culik 2003c) Age and Gender Distribution: A male:female ratio of 2:1 has been reported. Density: Estimated linear density of Indus River dolphins based on surveys conducted in 2001 (IUCN 2006): - 3.6 individuals/km (5.8 individuals/mi) in the Sindh Dolphin Reserve between the Guddu and Sukkur Barrages - 0.74 individuals/km (1.2 individuals/mi) between the Guddu and Taunsa Barrages - 0.28 individuals/km (0.45 individuals/mi) between the Taunsa and Chashma Barrages -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References Bonner 1989, Burton & Pearson 1987, Cetacea, Culik 2003c, IUCN 1994, IUCN 1996, IUCN 2000, IUCN 2002, IUCN 2003a, IUCN 2006, IWC 2000, Klinowska 1991, Macdonald 1984, Nowak & Paradiso 1983, Nowak 1999, Olson & Dinerstein 1998, Olson & Dinerstein 1999, Reeves & Chaudhry 1998, Reeves et al. 2000, Reeves et al. 2003, Reeves 2004, Swiss Cet. Resolved Question: Does anybody think Jeff Gordon will pass David Pearson's 105 wins?
I know it will be damn near impossible to pass The King's 200 wins but David's 105 wins seems more realistic. He is only 35 years old and could be racing until his late 40s like Mark Martin. (more...)

Ive asked my parents if they could co sign me, but they wont, its my step dad that feels like his gona loose everything if I do so. Iam a very responsible Pearson, is just my dad is so stubborn.
