Open Question: GCSES - Need Help with Future?
Well, I have chosen my course I am taking in college which are: Law Government and Politics Psychology Film Studies What I need to know is, wort sort of GCSE grades should I achieve to even consider law? I also plan to study law at University level, and hopefully get a masters/Doctorate in Law. So basically, need to know the minimum GCSES possible to consider it? I take my exams this year, and my current predictions are at: English - A Science - A/A* Mathematics - A* Sociology - A General Studies - A Media - A/A* BTEC Business Studies - Distinction (Equivalent to four A*/A grades) Physical Education - A Are these good enough? Or would I need to get my english up to A*? (I am currently comfortably sitting on an A but I would need to re-do over 100 pages of english coursework(yes, I write a lot) and I don't think it is worth the time since I may still fall short of an A*, so I am considering leaving this at A so I can concentrate on Science more?) My sciene is an issue, my Physics are currently at A*, marking usually 38-40/40 on every Physics exam (I think in the 1% of the UK?) but my chemistry is abissmal, but my biology is satisfactory. Should I shift my english time to science? Any answer is helpful (more...)

I am applying to a couple US universities but an unsure of data I am giving and if it's filled in the right way. On the application should I base my GPA on GCSE results and count AS-Level grades and incoming A2-Level grades as AP classes? Open Question: please help me fix my grammar and run on sentences etc..?
The House on Mango Street The House on Mango Street, written by Sandra Cisneros. This novel is about a young girl named Esperanza and the lessons she learns on Mango Street. There are a lot of young women that Esperanza looks up to. Most of them are in abusive relationships that they can?t get out of. Marin has pretty green eyes. She is older than Esperanza, so she knows more. She wants a guy to come and change her life for her. ?Marin, under the street light, dancing by herself, is singing the same song somewhere. I know. Is waiting for a car to stop, a star to fall, someone to change her life.?(p.27) Marin wants to get away from Mango Street, but she wants someone to do it for her. In the vignette ?Marin? it explains a lot about Marin and what her personality is like. Most of all it talks about how she is pretty and a lot of guys look at her. She is just waiting for one of them to change her life forever. Abusive relationships can be hard to get out of. Sally is one of Esperanza?s friends. Her dad hits her and she can?t do anything about it. Sally?s mom doesn?t say anything about it she just rubs lard on all her bruises. Her dad treats her like an animal. Her dad thinks that she is going to run away like his sisters did. ?He never hits me hard. She said her mama rubs lard on all the places where it hurts. Then at school she?d say she fell. That?s where all the blue places come from. That?s why her skin is always scarred.?(p.92) in the vignette ?What Sally Said? it talks about her abusive relationship with her dad. You can picture the bruises on her face, and feel the pain she feels. Alicia is a smart girl. She is trying to find her own way off of Mango Street. Open Question: I'm 21 and in a dilema about how to go about going to a state university in style. I am A.D.D. went to a C.C.?
I would like to say more. Graduated in 06 and i went to a community college at 18 for a year and a term then i screwed up winter term by not withdrawing from classes early enough (ie writing 122), (intermediate algebra~ 111) and i got kicked off financial aid.They then told me I had $1, 000.00I needed to pay off before I could go back to school. So I got a job full time at a call center for at&t and got a lot of overdraft fees and spent some time with boyfriend (27!)doing some bad things .pot.more occasionly until never now. (this is not new. but I DO have a good head on my shoulders I just have trouble keeping friends and I never got the chance in high school to find the "right" friends. Although I am outgoing i tend to be more of a "distracted, dweller" and For the past three years I feel i have missed out. My sibling (twin brother) goes to a 4 year University in the state, and is about to be a senior at grad school next year. I remember when he wasn't so serious and had fun in the dorms. My dilema is is that i am full of ideas but i'm losing my spunk(youngness).. and even though i'm immature i cant decide if i do pay off that 1,000 dollars -(almost done) and get to that university in the fall as a junior supposed to be a senior. How will i fit in in this (IMP!) AGE(Grade)-based state college where mostly 18-21 yr olds have flourished since high school. Should i A-join a sorority like my mom (would love this but am older eek!) B-Get to the dorms like my plan in high school or C-find people to get an apartment with-like 3 people. [please remember I was originally planning to go to college as a teenager still and next year i will be turning 22 in march.] p.s. I just wanted to give you the facts. thank you times 50. -Em. Open Question: Going away for college..?
I live in a town of about 50,000 people in Illinois. I applied to two colleges in New York. Pace University and Marymount Manhattan College. People tell me that they don't think I will make it there and that I am just dreaming big. When people say I won't make it, it makes me want to try that much harder. I KNOW I can make it. I'm very independent and I'm used to doing things on my own. Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out with friends, but I know I can make it at a college far away. It's 15 hrs away. What are things I can do, to make sure I go. Tips? Advice? Anything! Thank You! I wouldn't fly. I'd ride a train or my family would take me. (more...)

Open Question: Not exactly sure how to solve this...any thoughts?
I just moved back to the city where I am full time at the university. I live in a split level house, with a large fenced in backyard. The girls I live with are *very* irresponsible when it comes to housetraining and cleaning up. Anyway, enough background, I will get to my question. I was so happy to be able to take my aussie down with me, and she seems to be adjusting ok. On Wednesday I was gone from seven thirty until about three fifteen. I left Kita loose in the house, and came home and she hadn't had any accidents, and nothing was destroyed. Today I was gone from eight thirty to three. I came home to find a poo very near where there was a previous accident (not from my dog) Of course I cleaned up with a disinfectent, and then washed the spot with a pet deodorizer. So, did she poo there because she thought it was OK because of the other scent? This isn't the only place that the previous dogs' have soiled... She is crate trained, but I am *not* going to leave her in her crate that long. Should I just put her in my room? Should I block her into the kitchen? I don't really want to put her outside all day, she is a housedog and I fear that the sun will start to bleach out her black coat... Any suggestions? (more...)
