Resolved Question: A question about auto road racing...?
How are normal people supposed to pay to go road racing? Everywhere I look, raceways, courses and car clubs all want massive amounts of money just to be able to drive on a road course. No wonder why so many people street race, it seems almost impossible to keep paying for the huge amounts of fees that plague road racing. Isn't there a way where a normal person can go to a track without a racing license, helmet, etc, pay a ten dollar fee (like at a drag strip) and just drive? I understand about the rules and regulations, but what about time attack/pro solo? Your not having to pass cars, etc. Why do you have to have a racing license to drive fast around some cones? The entire race community makes it really hard for the average person to get involved at all. I understand the rules are in place for safety, etc, but I just want to be able to drive fast, have fun, and not worry about speeding tickets/reckless driving tickets. Anyone agree? Disagree? Why? Resolved Question: Hots in one raceway, switch-legs in another raceway, is a neutral needed in each raceway? Imbalance,heat?
(2) 6 gang 3ways with (1) 6x6 above with home runs. Hots in one raceway from 6x6 to one bank of switches. Switch-legs in another raceway from the other bank of switches to 6x6. Do I need to drag a neutral in each raceway (including the traveler raceway) so that no imbalance, or heat is created? (more...)

Resolved Question: Where is a good place to have a "track day" in my car in New Jersey? Like a race track that I can drive on?
Always wanted to do this, getting my first car next weekend, Mazda 6, would love to try it out at a track. I know about Raceway Park in my hometown, Old Bridge, but I want an actual race track... with CORNERS, not just a drag racing track. Anybody know a good place for this? Greatly Appreciated. Resolved Question: Survey:: Have you recently experienced anything that you won't soon forget...???
I did... I just got back from Summit raceway park in Norwalk, Ohio. I went to see the summit national drag racing event. I am simply in AWE at the sheer power of these cars and bikes. To literally feel these cars as they were launching, and then see them blow a 4.70sec in the quarter mile at 304 mph was UNBELIEVABLE!! Oh yeah,while trying to get John Force's autograph, me and a friend nearly passed out due to him starting his car while it was in the tent. No joke, one more attempt to breathe on my part, and I was meeting the pavement due to the nitro methane exaust... Quite an experience... What about you??? Resolved Question: Has anyone heard anything about Motion Raceway (the drag strip) near Assumption, Illinois?
I've been hearing rumors for years about it making a comeback, but recently there have been some reputeable names associated with those rumors. Is there any truth to Motion making a return to it's former glory? I used to go there a long time ago. I always thought it was the best track in Illinois, if not the country. (more...)
