Weird Science - The Complete Seasons 1 & 2 Based on John Hughes' popular teen science-fiction comedy of the same name, the Weird Science series took the film's premise--two socially inept high schoolers use technology to create their own fantasy woman--and took it to outlandish ends over the course of its four-year run. The show toned down the original feature's raunchier aspects--though ravishing in her wardrobe, dream girl Lisa (played by Vanessa Angel) hewed closer to Barbara Eden in I Dream of Jeannie than vampish Kelly LeBrock)--and the boys (John Mallory Asher and Michael Manaserri in the Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith roles, respectively) play more as good-natured goofs than hormonally charged nerds. Much of the show's humor came from Lisa's ability to grant the guys' wishes, which invariably went awry (spots on the basketball team in "Airball Kings" lead to a disastrous season; Manaserri accidentally becomes the Commander-in-Chief in "Mr. President"; Lisa's clones of the boys--made from bubble gum--want to replace them permanently in "The Bazooka Boys"), though Lee Tergesen (later of Oz) earned plenty as Wyatt's thick-skulled brother Chett. Though the fashion and music scream early '90s, the show's breezy, silly gags have largely remained fresh, which should please its longtime fans. All 23 episodes of the first two seasons are retained in this four-disc box set; Asher and Angel are also on hand to lend commentary to three episodes, including the pilot, "She's Alive," "Bazooka Boys," and "The Most Dangerous Wish" (Lisa brings a video game villain to life). Open Question: Are these really the two best football teams in America?
I mean come on! I got to admit I didn't see these teams play much in the regular season. There just has never been much to watch when it comes to football back east. But these teams are weak !! Fancy quick play by OK. Can't they beat their man without trickery? What about FL. These guys rely on a fullback QB. Both these teams would have their lunches handed to them by USC. The Trojans jelled about week 4 or 5 and have been pounding people since. Please tell me these are not two of the teams the BCS kept ahead of the BEST team in the country for 7 weeks while every team above them lost. Including these two muffins. They lost late when they were the best they would ever be. To who? Texas? Are you kidding me, Texas. Ohio St. almost beat them. Mississippi St? USC sat at # 5 for most of the season while every team above them lost! They didn't move to 2, or 3, or even 4. They st at 5. How can these players have any self respect when a system is so unjust? And how can any young talented player want to play for a conference so unjustly favored by ESPN, and the BCS? I'll tell you what this will be a hollow victory, and a sad example of American sportsmanship and fair play!! Open Question: Montreal Canadiens special team stats for 1971 playoffs?
Anyone have any accurate information on the Habs special team stats during their legendary Stanley Cup run in 1971? Im looking for power play goals, opportunities and PP% for every playoff game. Same thing for the penalty killing. Power play goals against, opportunities against and PK% for every game. I cant seem to find this info on the web, I tried hockey-reference.com but they only list regular season special team stats. Anyone have this info handy or know where to find it? Thanks in advance! Open Question: Question about the Chargers vs Steelers game.?
People keep saying the Chargers are going to get creamed (well the uneducated do) but how can this be when in regular season they won by 1 point. When a) The chargers were playing crap and b) they were at home. its the playoffs now and the chargers are doing well. I dont know who will win, I hope the chargers will but its silly to say they will get creamed because if you loose you come across as a bit of fool, dont you? one thing is certain, there will be plenty of steelers fans in bars throughout Americas finest city (san diego) rooting for their team. it has been widely reported that USC would have been favored over both Florida and Oklahoma in a head-to-head matchup! all three teams have one loss, and USC was playing the best football at the end of the regular season. also, USC was kept out last year because of their "bad loss" to Stanford. but Florida had a bad loss to Missisippi at HOME this year, so what gives? Open Question: Who is that JACKASS on FOX Radio that keeps putting down Utah and the MWC and brags about the PAC-10?
There is this over night guy on FOX RADIO that keeps bragging about the mighty PAC-10 and how inferior the MWC is and Utah is overrated. He however conveniently ignores the fact that the MWC has a 6-1 record against the PAC-10 in the regular season. This included Utah beating Oregon State (team that beat USC). Or the fact that the WAC had its share of victories over the PAC-10 as well. I would remind this idiot that Urban Meyer was had a 12-0 record in 2004 with Utah and guess what he's still can coach in the SEC. Remember all this arrogant types that claimed they where not impressed with what he did in the MWC, because this was the SEC. Why is when a non BSC team beats a BCS team in a bowl game it was luck or other team wasn't motivated. But when yet get 1 blow out like last years Sugar bowl (Georgia over Hawaii) you sure love to hit us fans of smaller schools over the head with as to why we shouldn't even get a BCS spot. Just remember Big Ben played for Miami Ohio and Pennington for Marshall and where overlooked by the College Football mafia cartel that relegated their outstanding final seasons to lower tiered bowls. So I played regular outdoor soccer and I wanted to stay in shape for the next season so I joined an indoor soccer team, completely oblivious it was different that outdoor soccer. Now I'm finding out that it's totally different and all the girls on the team are more experienced than me cause they've been playing for two or three weeks. I joined late. I need to know everything or a lot about indoor soccer please.. I usually play right de cause I'm a righty and I'm slow at running but very strong. what position would be good for me?! thanks (more...)

Resolved Question: Are any other Laker fans upset about this?
We lose to the Hornets for the first time in the season and a flurry of articles from ESPN to Yahoo come out saying, "Oh the Hornets are now capable of beating the Lakers" or "The race for the west just got tighter" blah blah blah. Are you serious? They lose one game with 3 key players injured, LO only playing in the first half, and it took monster efforts by D. West and CP3 to beat the Lakers ONE time in the REGULAR SEASON. I dont think EVER in the history of MJ did the Bulls have to hear this sort of crap. Even when the Bulls were only one-time winners, they were never questioned. The Celtics are 2-5 in their last 7 games and all the writers are saying, oh this was bound to happen blah blah blah, they will be back on their feet. The Lakers have got to be the most hated franchise of all time outside of the NY Yankees (more...)
