We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. my partner and i have been together for 3 1/2 years and we have a 2 year old daughter.we are both young i am 20 and he is 24 and for a long time i havnt been feeling the same love for him as i once did. i dnt hate him and we have issues that never seem to resolve themselves as hard as we try 2 change our attitudes etc.. furthermore, i somehow cant picture him as the one i will live the rest of my life with and feel as though we have grown apart and are two very different people.things we want from life etc... i feel like there is alot missing from what i need in a relationship but i am so confused and feeling guilty that i cant even reason on what it is exactly.and i also feel as though i see him more as a brother now rather than a lover. i felt so guilty for continuously having doubts worries and mixed feelings on wether i am happy or not that i dnt think it is very fair on him as he loves me still so much. so i broke up with him... do u think it was a right move? i am not angry and i dnt think i feel regret but i do feel a huge sense of loss that i keep thinking he wont b part of my life much anymore. but then i feel liberated at the same time-like i can get myself on track again. i am so scared that i am going 2 b a single mother still studying and feel as though i have failed my daughter.she is only two but i cant sleep at night with all this guilt that i may have just shattered 2 lives. has anyone ever felt this way?anyone a single mum?did u go through the same?what do u think?this question is aimed at anyone who has an opinion to give. i feel so alone and insecure-dnt have anyone to advise me or to talk to. please help! many thanks, laura (more...)

Ok, I have been divorced for two years now and now found someone that I really love and we want to marry. He is currently living here on a student visa, which expires in two years. We have two issues that need resolving before we take any steps, please answer both my questions, I'll be very thankful. 1. I have two children from my previous marriage, I am getting child benefite, housing benefit, working tax credits, child tax credits and child care costs through tax credits too. If I married the man I love, would I have to stop receiving benefits, so it doesnt cause problems when applying for his indefinite leave to remain in uk? 2) Could he not get indefinite leave to remain in the uk through a permanent job here, instead of applying as a spouse? Im asking this as that way, I may not have to stop receiving benefits, am I right? For your information, he came to uk as a student, he has just recently graduated and is looking for a good job now. You might be thinking why I'm worried benefit wise, this is because even though I am working full time I do not earn enough but thankfully I'm receiving most of my housing benefit which almost covers my rent(£700 for my house). If after marrying him, I'll have to stop receiving all the benefits I'm scared that I'll not be able to manage financially. I know that he'll be helping me financially too but he needs to get a job first. Please help me out on what will be best for us as we really love each other, and want to be together. (more...)

Yes this is a long one. I have been married for 5 years now, have 2 beautiful children 3 and 4 and a lovely wife, we have a lovely home , luxury cars, money in the bank, a fulltime nanny, a fulltime maid , fulltime Gardner. We can afford to buy anything (within reason) when ever we want, my wife does not work and has not for 3 years, this was always her ambition, and I prefer it this way. The kids also go to nursery school in the mornings and with the nanny and maid she does not have tones to do to make the house tick over. I give you all of this info merely to discount that she needs help and that it is tough with 2 toddlers?I have staff to help 7 days a week and she has 100% access to all monies and does not follow any kind of budget she can have whatever she wants(within reason) . I am happy to be able to provide for my family as well as I have, I have my own business and work hard at it, not for personal fulfillment but to provide a good life for my wife and children. I don?t work long hours all the time, but often need to work 12+ hour days 7 days a week due to the work load and then last year had to do quite a bit of travel as well ( 6 weeks n the year). I would much rather be home with my wife and kids than at work or traveling for work, my wife never gives me hassles for working long hours nor traveling for work, never a complaint and I appreciate this. But she now makes if she is doing me a favor by not complaining that I work to much, or not complaining when I have to go on business?trust me North Africa is no picnic I thought we had a perfect life but a few weeks ago she got it in her head that I was not the same man she married, because I did not think things that were important to her where important to me. She claims I no longer act the way I did when we got married, but believe me I am a good man, I don?t cheat, don?t lie, don?t badmouth her, and all I do is for the good of the family I love and adore my wife and children. I am not self-centered at all but yet I am a independent man( I ain?t no wimp). I believe I compromise loads in the relationship, for as great as my wife is she is very insecure and believe the people are always judging her with the net result she has no real friends, she is very strong willed and once she has set her mind that something is one way you will not change her mind no matter what. Subsequently we have made up and fought about 6 times each lasting 2 or so days. These arguments are never initiated by me, every time something happens or I do or say something that she does not like she explodes , and then brings in events and people that have nothing to do with the particular argument into the argument? It really feels like a repeat each time we argue and I can not take this any longer, I have requested we go get some marriage counseling, but she refused? she did go to a doctor to see ? why her temper was so short. or why she was constantly upset with me? I did blame one of her last outbursts on PMS so the doctor apparently said? men like blaming PMS for arguments? but trust me it has an affect. I am a reasonable level headed man and have no problem apologizing when I know I am wrong ..Hey no body?s perfect.. except my wife who believes she is perfect , I did not add that for sarcasm she actually claimed to be perfect, and reasoned the reason why I never start a fight is because she never does anything to upset me.(realistically am I unreasonable by thinking this is bull?) She says that she does not want somebody else and really she is a fantastic wife and the worlds best mom?o and a fantastic lover? But I can not be the man she wants me to be, I don?t know who he is, and have given 100% I have no more, I don?t intentionally try to upset her, but any little thing seems to set her off and the argument seems to be the end of the world/ our marriage. We are two different people, with different interests, I enjoy the outdoors she doesn?t ( she did try once though. Let me just say it was a horrible weekend) I know we love one and other, but I don?t think I want to live my life constantly fearing the next time my wife will explode. I am no good at arguing, and struggle to make a good point when we argue I don?t keep track or score of what happened in the past?she does and this infuriates me as it seems that we can never move on as our arguments are never resolved but merely added to the list for ammunition for next time that she brings up time and again. Our argument are not about relation ruining things. One example. She does not do the outdoors, and as the great wife she is claims that she will not prevent me from doing the outdoors just as long as she does not have to participate. worked well for years but now the rules change. I can not do it with certain people as this pisses her off. we are going through financial hardship as most everyone is, I live with my wife, my daughter, my grandma, my mom, and my sister. my wife has really never gotten along with my sister as they both have the same type of personality, real b@!$hy. my sister just moved in after she left her boyfriend and had no where to go so we offered our how. what can I do to get them to get along. I've setup a family meeting because it's gotten to the point that the attitudes are affecting everyone including my daughter and her schooling. what do you bring up to resolve the issues. I'm tired of it and I have no problems with my relationship but if the attitudes keep up who knows. (more...)

Here's the detail: Income-wise from working, I grossed about $55,000 in 2008. Sounds like a lot, but in reality, living in NJ, it's not a lot when you take out all of the deductions. My fiance (who I live with) has had job issues for the past year and a half thanks to our wonderful economy and lack of jobs, so that $55,000 gross (which is really like $35-$40,000 net) has had to pay mostly all of our bills, in addition to his child support from child from before our relationship. Needless to say, it's been a year of struggling. In the beginning of 2008, I was laid off from my job and we also had an emergency at the same time. I was forced to make the decision to cash out my 401K. My 401K was at about $24,000, and when I received the check, I received a little over $19,000. I know that for the first time ever, I am going to have to pay taxes when I file this year. Money is so tight as it is, I'm trying to prepare myself for what it's going to be. Is anyone with some experience with this able to just speculate a ballpark of what I might have to pay? Other than myself, I really have no deductions -- we rent, I have no children of my own, no hybrid car, nothing. I do commute to work in Delaware, but i don't know if there are any deductions for your commute (even though mine was hefty, at over $4000 for the year between gas and increased bridge tolls) Would anyone be able to provide me with any kind of information? My fiance's job issue has not been resolved adequately for the long term, so I need to try to plan for everything to ensure there is money to cover everything and everything is accounted for by the dollar. Not a lot extra. So, I need to try to work something out, but need some guidance on what to possibly expect. Wanted to clarify: My income from working in 2008 is $55,000 The 401K cash-out was in addition to this and I received $19,000 from it. Further question to VB: You said that I bump my taxes by $8500 to my taxes when adding my 401K. Here's what I've payed already in taxes this year: The $4,800 withheld when I closed the 401K; Approximately $7,600 in pay stub reductions. For a total of approximately $12,400. Do you think I will owe a substantial amount more than this? When you add the 401K to your tax return, you bumped your taxes by $8400 (25% or $6000 for tax, $2400 for penalty), but only $4800 was withheld. Neither one of us want a big wedding and have decided to travel to New Hampshire (a favorite of ours) to have a quiet ceremony with our immediate family only. We were hoping to have it in a Catholic church. Here are my questions: 1) Do I have to get a marriage licence in New Hampshire or can I get one here in Florida? We were planning on going down to the courthouse this weekend and then just having our small ceremony to celebrate next month. 2) What could complicate our plan? I have no idea where to start. /sigh. The location of the duty is far from where I live? It is like 40 minutes away and I have no ride there and I went by telephone standby but I thought the duty would be from where I live which is 5 minutes away so I feel i may be in a situation but cant resolve it. I know I received this notice a few weeks before but I didnt know this was going to happen. I just want to know if I can make it like the day after? My neighbor recently left a note on my door complaining about the noise from my apartment to theirs. Now they live above me, and are complaining when I listen to music, or play games. Their note requested that I use headphones when doing these activities. For music this wouldn?t be a huge deal except if I have it on when cleaning up, but for television, movies and games this would be a inconvenience. I do not have an issue with lowering the volume and do not intend to disturb them. Yet they are complaining about ?normal? levels. I never play anything before 12 PM or after 9 PM because I work nights (10 to 6) The issue is that one of the tenants above me is doing their dissertation and there for asking library like quiet. They are also not working so they are home all day. I am looking for a comprise but not sure where one can be found. Even though I am following the leases rules for quiet hours I am sure they would take there side. I understand I am not in a private house where I can make all the noise I want but they should understand they aren?t in a library and live in a multiunit dwelling. Has anyone resolved a situation such as this? How can I approach this without sounding like the bad guy (I don?t want to live in a library environment and I love music, movies and games) but is there even a middle ground in a situation like this?
