I would say i get good responces, but i often wonder from the ones that don't reply back, whether they don't think i promote myself well enough, or the the lack of job experience i have. You see, i was in College for 2 years full time, but didn;t bother getting a job, which was a mistake. So i ended up failing to get into the next level up at College and i'm now been searching for min. wage bar/restaurant/hotel jobs for over 6 months. My name is **** and I quite simply need the work. I have come to the end of my 2 year stint at College and I have been 6 months unemployed. In October I applied for a Job at a home caring for the elderly and the mentally and physically ill. I didn't hear back from them so I had thought that they didn't choose me for the position. I continued working for the home care company I was working for until I got an email on the 5th of December asking me if I wanted the job. At this point I was in a bad situation because I was moving out of my apartment and had no where in town to live and intended on going home for the holidays. I told the manager this and she seemed to be okay with it. So, I took the job only to find out she had me scheduled for the 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th, 31st and the 1st of January. I was stumped because I had told her my issue. I made arrangements to stay in town till at least the 24th. However, on the way back from a relatives, we hit a patch of hit and I hurt my neck badly. I ended up not being able to go back to work until the 30th. Before I went home for Christmas my employer called and left me a message. The phone doesn't ring, so I didn't know. She basically accused me of lying and I told her straight up that if she was, I was insulted because I am NOT that employee who lies to their boss. Anyway, while I was employed there I worked my **** off, and I cared for those people with all I had and often went out of my way for them. I showed up to work on time, always kept my uniform clean and never talked trash about anyone. Yesterday I went into work at 7am and my team leader tells the manager wanted to see me. There's this letter on the table that reads *paraphrasing here* I regret to inform you that your services are no longer required at ______ ________. As we feel you are not suitable for the position. Note that this notification is effective immediately. Please make arrangements to return your uniform badge and keys to the building." So......anyone want to tell me what happened? I'm thinking I was too bold in standing up for myself because she said I was excellent with the residents.... I'm not offended by my dismissal, just curious as to what happened....and what category does this fall under the unemployment act Okay. I'm 5 hours from home and I know no one in this town. I wasn't sleeping because of the noise at my apartment, it had bugs, and the hot water tank exploded so I told my landlord I was moving out by the 23rd. With the job I had, they were understanding about my situation because they knew me for a long time. I had told this woman BEFORE she hired me about this and she was OKAY with it. I said otherwise, hire someone else.....she never. When I get hired I see that I'm scheduled for days I specifically COULD NOT work. It was just coincidental that I ended up hurting my neck in the process. With a written note from the doctor at the emergency room and a note from my family doctor, plus the flexeril and demerol combined I was incapable of caring for myself, let alone 84 residents. When I was working, I worked very hard. I was very honest with this woman from the beginning. I kind of feel like she used me to have someone work for the holidays. I was upfront with her from the get-go. Oh and about the phone. Something was wrong with the switch. I couldn't make or recieve calls but people could leave me messages. I had no way of knowing she called me and YES, I did tell her about my injury, as I came in THAT night I got out of the emergency to let them know. I was always honest with everyone. (more...)

Greetings, Over the last month or so, I have been unable to successfully search for any messages with a year older than 2008. This happened about six months ago, was fixed by Yahoo, but now the problem is reoccurring. In searching, in the message results pane, nothing before the year 2008 is shown. Customer Service said they fixed the problem, but it is still there so I let them know. Note that this happens in both Firefox 3 and IE 7. I run Windows XP Sp-3, all critical updates are installed. Could someone please contact the Mail Blog team about this issue? I have had this account for about 7 years. Note that I have another newer Yahoo Mail account where this problem does NOT occur. This is kinda long so please bare with me. Here's some history on what's been happening in my inbox lately. I've been receiving e-mails from a phony company lately. The e-mails don't have an "unsubscribe" button but they do provide an e-mail address. Every time I send them an e-mail asking them to take me off their mailing list I get another one from a different e-mail address. I can tell it's them because the e-mails always have the same format. I've sent every one of the e-mails to the spam folder but because it comes from different addresses, I still get them. So last night I downloaded Microsoft Office directly off Microsoft's website and a few minutes later I have 2 e-mails from this phony company that say this: MICROSOFT AWARD TEAM 20 Craven Park, Harlene's London NW10, London, United Kingdom.
