I have Oklahoma beating Texas Tech at Norman giving Texas the Big 12 South. I also have BYU beating Utah moving Boise to an automatic bid. Whether you think this will happen or not listen. In this situation Texas is basically guarnteed to go to the BCS Title Game w/another Big 12 rep moving in. Boise already has the automatic spot and likely would get slated to play in the fiesta bowl Both Oklahoma and Texas Tech are eligiable, who was ahead doesn't matter (see: Kansas/Missouri last yr). These first 3 teams could all be undeated making it difficult to pick the BCS title mathcup: Alabama, Penn St, and Texas Tech(TT still has to play the Oklahma teams Sooners and Cowboys). Boise St. and Utah will both likely win out the regular season, so what do they get in terms of ranking, Bowl Invitation, Bowl Matchup, and Individual honors? In my opinion the best teams(Rankings and past performances not considered) right now are as follows: #1) Florida #2) Penn St. #3) Texas Tech #4) Oklahoma State #5) Alabama #6) Texas #7) Oklahoma #8) USC #9) Boise State #10) Ohio St #11) Missouri #12) TCU #13) Utah #14) BYU #15) LSU #16) Georgia #17) Michigan St. I'm a die hard Mizzou fan so my biased pick is they win out, taking the Big 12 Title and BCS Bowl game and finishing 12-2, same record as last year. Their final ranking (AP) last year was 4. They could get up to #6 this year. I know I have Black and Gold glasses on, I must represent the team thats always dissed by the fans. Obviously the BCS is skewed towards big money conferences, but are there any non-money reasons why Penn State should get more clout than Utah should both go undefeated? They share a common opponent, whom they've both defeated. Utah went on the road and beat a Big Ten team (not much of an accomplishment, but isn't that what Penn State's whole resume is, aside from Oregon State?) and their remaining schedule has two top 25 teams, while Penn State looks to finish out the year against three more Big Ten pushovers. Add to that the accomplishment of Utah, and, while we're at it, Boise State, of winning a high profile BCS Bowl in the last five years (has a Big Ten team done this?) and I'd say the Utes have a more logical case to contend for a title, if one throws out the aforementioned issue of the system's tilt towards the six favored conferences. If not Utah, couldn't a strong argument be made for a one-loss team from the Big 12, SEC or a one-loss USC team leapfrogging the winner of a joke of a conference? (more...)

why is USC still in the top 10 after losing to an unranked team that PSU blew out a few weeks before? and also why is Oklahoma still in the top 5 after losing to a top 5 team? Ohio State lost to the #2 team and dropped like 10 spots. Oklahoma barely moved. Everyone always talks about OHio state not "winning the big one" what about Oklahoma? you guys got spanked by USC a few years ago, outcoached by boise St, whipped by WVU and are a top 5 team every year but always seem to lose. WHy is that sooner fans? Most ppl forget that OSU scored on the first play against FL in the chamionship game with the kick off. Ted Ginn got hurt on that play and it threw them off their game plan. If he had been healthy who knows what could have happened. Last year was not a blow out. I doubt that a 14 pt win constitutes a "blow out" and LSU scored at the end of the game when it was already pretty much decided. WHy all the criticism of Ohio State? Ohio State also lost its Heisman trophy QB, top 2 receivers and defensive players not to mention its starting running back. I said well dont Tressel for even getting them TOO the title game with new starters. as for the "weak schedule" of course they were going to have a slighly easier schedule all the starters were gone.! The would be stupid too have the most complex schedue in the nation. USC is in the WOST conference in college football. besides a team they beat w/o their starting tell back in Ohio STate, who have they beaten? and everyone says OSU isnt that good (and they are not the best team in college), that win shouldn't even count. They have played no one. every team in The big 12 has a harder schedule than USC. With their lost to an unranked team i dont see how they could possibly been in the top 10 considering how they lost that game as well. It wa only a touchdown difference but USC was dominated completely throughout that game. Also, Oklahoma has lost more "big Games" then OSU. why isnt it's coach on the "hot seat"? give me a break! and for USC. You guys always have the top touted players from all over the country every year and seem poised to win the title every year, but they always lose to some sloopy teams. Why is that? Stanford last year, Oregon State this year. Who is next? I wanna know why Ohio State is out of the top 10. yes the got their butt kicked my USC but they did not have their best player in Beanie wells. and now with a change at QB the team is coming along well.Oklahoma is an excellent team no doubt but those biased sports writers will always have them at the top, my problem is they are never consistent. they Always lose win it counts. LSU didnt even deserve to be in the title game last year Georgia did. They were right behind osu and should have been there all because of a rule that did not exist. "didnt win their conference champion" oh shut the heck up. now watch this year FL and Texas will be there and neither will win the conference championship. just watch...and this is coming from a Hurricane fan!~ (more...)

East Carolina has two wins over ranked teams, Boise St. has a powder puff schedule with a home game against Fresno State as the season finally, Fresno State is the best non-bcs team on paper but plays a schedule that would have them challenging for the bcs title game if they win out, Mountain West winner (TCU BYU or Utah) has a shot but one has to sweep the other two which could prove hard to do.
